Summary Of The Book

Chloe Mills is a gorgeous and ambitious hard-working intern at a media company and is close to getting her MBA degree. Her boss, Bennett Ryan, who’s in Chicago to take care of his family’s media business, is demanding and cold. But, he happens to be irrevocably attracted to her. They had been collaborating over the phone, but neither had any idea that they would end up being attracted to the other.

Beautiful Bastard describes two different personalities who love power, but hate the effect one has on the other owing to their mutual attraction. Though the two work well together professionally, they seem to hate each on a personal level. Will one of them make a move? Will Chole be able to complete her internship without incident?

The book alternates between Chloe and Bennett’s points of view, giving the reader a glimpse of how both of them perceive situations. What makes the book more interesting for the reader is that Chloe’s perceptions are quite different from Bennett’s. Their personalities are also well described. Will the both of them keep trying to infuriate each other? The book traces the fate of the two and the way their mutual attraction for each other is dealt with.

Though the book has a conventional and predictable plot, Beautiful Bastard does not disappoint when it comes to the matters of the flesh. It was also a New York Times and USA Today bestseller. It was announced in February 11, 2013, that a film adaptation of the book would be released by Constantin Film. The film is to be produced by Jeremy Bolt.
