SQL or Structured Query Language, is a programming language that has been designed to manage data pertaining to Relational DBMS. It is based on tuple relational calculus and relational algebra. The book intensively covers different topics related to Database Management, SQL queries, Relational Data, Data Definition Language, Data Manipulation Language, Bulk Copy Program, Stored Procedures, Transaction Control language and Data Control language.
The first chapter talks about Database management, the difference between Data and Information, how to create simple databases and Database Management Systems. The Second chapter deals with Basic Queries. It provides details on Query Syntax, Single Table Queries and Exact Matching. He is the creator of Joes2Pros series of books. He took computer classes at the Catapult Software Training Institute. He got his first breakthrough in the form of a job related to database management at Microsoft. He has worked for Microsoft for over 10 years has got about 30 technical certifications from Microsoft in areas like Networking, Applications, .NET Development and databases.
Doug Fritz is a researcher, programmer and author. Other books by him are SQL Architecture Basics Joes 2 Pros: Core Architecture Concepts and SQL Interpretability Joes 2 Pros: A Guide to Integrating SQL Server with SML, C# and Powershell. He works with Google as a creative programmer presently. He also has been a research assistant at the Massachusetts Institute Of Technology.
