Sam Wellington is a retired founding member of the award winning country music group, The Fabulous Four Guys, who were among the Grand Ole Opry's regular cast of stars for more than thirty-two years. After touring much of the "free world" on their own and with country legends Charley Pride, Hank Williams, Jr., Jimmy Dean, Marty Robbins, Faron Young, Ferlin Husky, and others, Wellington and his career-long partner Brent Burkett decided to retire from performing and settle into more peaceful, unassuming lifestyles. Until his death in October, 2007, Burkett enjoyed tending his thirty-eight acre farm in Fairview, Tennessee, a small community southwest of Nashville. Meanwhile, Wellington became a published author, writing books and short stories while splitting time between his home in Franklin, Tennessee (just south of Nashville), and his winter haven on the Florida Gulf Coast.
