In the league of the IIM products, the book certainly does not claim to be a lit piece. It is an entertainer sustained on better pedestrian English appealing to thos who do not read literature. The story takes up the popular TV serial-type props to advance itself. The boy's death near the lake in the initial chapters was at once predictable and so was the nature of the Bramhastra. The last two decades were not the season of good indo-anglian literature. It was the age of fasttrack soaps or movies and also of the books, it seems. Not the literary or the deeper streams of consciousness but the FMCG sense of inveigling the consumer into believing what is good for him in the globalised culture and economy has generated many such masterpieces!!!

Finished reading it a few minutes ago. A rich tale, constructed with great precision and detail. An intelligent, masterful effort to the end. It's easy to forget that this is a debut novel.

Great stuff Anish ... I can see the signs of a big budget movie embedded in this story. It's a matter of time, I reckon. Keep me posted.

the book started well. it was going well. but it ended rather abruptly. it seems as if someone forgot to print the last few pages. it doesn't say what happens to the main protagonists at the end.

read it if you want to try a different kind of story.

Nice Plot drafted well in words. Thrill and curiosity make you restless untill you reach the end. Not muchj on the Mutiny but the story goes well with fast pace. Nice Debut and all the best for the next one...
