Strikes a Chord

Had an amusing time going through the photos which have been meticulously blended with excellent descriptions. First time I have come across a book which comprehensively captures DNA of the city and also its metamorphosis over period of time. In the process it raises several questions and keeps the reader thinking.

I miss Bangalore when i see this book

Mahesh Bhat is one of the finest photographer and book maker in India and we already witness about his old book Unsung and now Bengaluru/Bangalore in his list.I was in Bangalore almost four years and i really miss Bangalore whenever i see this book..One of the finest Photo book on Bangalore and actually all photographs is witness of Bangalore fast changes and cover images actually show how Bangalore changed in last few years.Very strong images and well written text, must have Photo Book...

A Book that loves a City

Mahesh has lovingly, and painstakingly, over a couple of decades recorded a city he lives in and obviously loves in this book. The photographs show the evolution, or should i say the rapid transformation of Bangalore from a sleepy cantonment, green covered town to a city which has world-class potential. But leaves us with the question . . will it actually live up to the potential. Beautifully photographed, sensitively curated and edited and very professionally produced.

Hope, that's what I would call this book.
I have seen Bangalore's nooks and crannies through the lenses of Mahesh in this book. It's one of the best picture books I have seen so far - from the pictures that contrast the old and the new to the quality of print.
