Project management is a management approach concerned with getting the job done - on time with in budget, and according to specifications. The primary focus is on result. Thomson R. Black & J Davidson Frame Most projects operate under the constraints of time, budget and specifications because infinite resources are not available in most cases. Competitive pressures affect all three constraints and project teams are often asked to work faster and on smaller budgets but with little compromise in the specs for the outcome. As the practice of project management has grown, a new professional, the project manager, has emerged, who may orchestrate an office that can become a resource to the organization. This office can provide support, standardize approaches to projects, train people and integrate under-utilized parts of the organization effectively.
