    Value-for-money

One time readable book. The start of book is good but it's end like a Indian movie.

2016 - First Book to Read

Can you imagine John Grisham doing a Nicholas Sparks! Well, that’s what Ravi Subramanian’s latest book, The Bestseller She Wrote, is all about. And a real bold attempt at that. The novel is not only replete with references to real authors (Chetan Bhagat, Ashwin Sanghi and their ilk), journos (Poonam Saxena), commissioning editors (Vaishali Mathur), their lives (public and private), but is also pedantic at times (or so I felt). Why authors should/ should not be judging dance shows (a clear ref...

    A Quick One-Time Read

What first appealed to me when I saw this book was its Title. It was one of the most catchy titles in the recent times. Reminded me the title of the old TV series Murder, She Wrote’. Then came the interesting cover in yellow. It made me want to read the book so bad, and now that I did, did it manage to keep up my expectations? Read on to find out.

    Promising read!

“The Best Seller she Wrote” is Strongly recommended to readers looking for a change from the usual Love-sex-dhoka kind of romances (read: high school crushes, college love stories, IIT/IIM romcoms, blah-blah-blah … ) flooding the Indian market. The Best Seller She wrote is about clandestine love, deceit, betrayal, loss, sleeze, rejection and dejection. Its not just great read but also perfectly fit for Bollywood too. The book is all-spicy, fast paced, contemporary and unputdownable. Apart fro...

    A Good Read

    Author: Ravi Subramanian
    ISBN: 978-93-85152-38-2
Genre: Romance / Drama / Mystery
    Publisher: Westland Book
    No. Of pages: 390

Ravi Subramanian had done a wonderful job on this middle age romance (or is it even romance? It felt more like mystery to me and a lot of drama) and must be given due credit… The play of emotions, fate, lust, betrayal, love and then the road towards redemption… Ravi had done a splendid job from the beginning of the novel, up until end. But yes, its the usual drama.......

    A Good read!

The Bestseller she wrote is a sure shot Bestseller 'he' has written! How beautifully he has connected the dots, every now and then, every time there's something new you understand the relevance of a particular incident a few pages back. A complete page turner it is.
Although the first thing that comes to mind after starting a book by Ravi Subramanian is that the story would be something on banking - perhaps a thriller? He may depict the various things that goes on in a banking setup. However...

    Good one

Ravi has deviated from his usual thrillers to write in a new genre with this book. That too romance. But in my opinion, he has done justice to it by telling the story of a writer who is also a banker like himself thus managing to bring authenticity into the characters that he created.
A best-selling author who is content with a life of fame, happy family and a satisfying day job. Enter a girl, and it turns chaotic. Not an unfamiliar storyline. But add a thriller undertone and it becomes inte...

    An interesting read

    The review
I had heard so much about the author but never actually got myself to read any of his works. So when I was offered a chance at reviewing his work, I took it up instantaneously.
The beginning of the book was good and I felt it would be a nice, cozy read. As it went onto the cliched and predictable extramarital affair, the romance turned to erotica, which had me re-thinking if I had made a mistake of picking up the book in the first place. It was too much of a Mills & Boons sort of f...

Fast paced .. good one time read

The Bestseller She Wrote is a fast paced, well written book which surely is a page turner. The chapters are small (2-3 pages) which keep the reader engaged. The language is simple and easy to read and so it doesn't take too long to finish it. I started reading it one fine evening on Saturday and was done by Sunday afternoon, and I had good sleep and my kid bugged me every 10 mins. So I am sure voracious readers can finish it in few hours.

Normally in most of the books, the protagonist is th...

    Ravi nails it!!!

I call him the John Grisham of India, and the Madhur Bhandarkar of the banking world. Like Madhur, Ravi Subramanian exposed the blatant truth of the banking world, the corruption & the bureaucracy.
But there is a BIG difference between Ravi and Madhur. Madhur kept on repeating the same subject in his films, leading to all of his recent ones being disasters.
On the other hand, Ravi changed genres. Not that I disliked his repetitive subjects. I mean, he could easily manage to pull off 4-5 thril...
