WYSIWYGIt is usually said that one should not judge a book by its cover. But with Sameer Kamat's "Beyond the MBA Hype", what you see is what you get: A simply written, no-nonsense guide to demystifying B-schools. And as promised, a time and money saver.

A practical guide for any MBA aspirantWith a reference to Sachin on the very first page,Sameer instantly connects with his readers. He maintains this connect throughout the book by taking us through the journey of a fictional MBA aspirant 'Mitu' . Many an MBA aspirant will be able to relate to this as they would have been in similar situations. The book has a very 'Chetan Bhagat' feel to it in the way it handles the entire 'phoren MBA' process and reading the whole book is a rather enjoyable affair.

A great De-motivator in your MBA journeyDo not follow everything that is mentioned in the book. The content of the book are the author's opinion. Studying abroad is always a good option if you are getting admitted to a good b-school. I read this book and I took nearly 2 weeks to recover from the depression that the book created inside me.

Mere HypeCouple of years back i decided to do an MBA, but was not sure of which way to take, either full time or part time. I was doing analysis about MBA programmes, then accidentally i came across this book.I was enthusiastic that i may get lot of insights about MBA programmes, but this book turned out to be a dud. This book may help freshers or people who have zero idea about MBA programmes. If you have enough time to do some research in google, then you can very well skip buying this book.

Excellent Guide for prospective MBAsThis book is an excellent guide for anyone who is thinking about an International MBA. It is very insightful and more importantly honest about everything associated with an international MBA. Despite the fact that the author himself can be identified as a stakeholder in the MBA industry, he has refrained from presenting an over-optimistic view about what a international MBA means for an individual. Whether you are confused about when, how and why to apply to b-schools or about what you can expect post-MBA in terms of your career, this book should go a long way to guide you in the right directi… (Expand)
