I loved this serial in DD 1 when I was a kid. So, I was looking for this DVD pack for long and got it in flipkart.

DVD quality:
DVD quality is good enough and audio/video quality is clear. pleasant to watch even in this non premium version. Premium version DVD must be better but if you do not want to buy the premium version then I can assure you this normal version DVD is very good to watch. What's more, there is a book "Bharat Ek Khoj" in this pack along with 9 DVDs. Book's print is very go...

An excellent dramatization of Indian History !

Kudos to the producer and director, Shyam Benegal for producing such an excellent tv series on Indian History! And to flipkart for making it available to us.

The series is historically quite accurate and the dramatic presentation is quite engaging. Each episode is enjoyable to watch because of the artful combination of story, screenplay, direction and ofcourse acting. Pandit Nehru' s historical interpretations are an added bonus!

An epic

The legendary director has created nothing less than an epic out of the book. The title and closing song reminds me of the great TV shows once shown on DD rather than today's Saas-Bahu drama. At least we had something to watch along with our family and cherish together. Nice to have when having growing children, they need to take there time away from animation to some interestingly depicted knowledge.

this show makes me feel soo nostalgic about the old times of doordarshan and the quality programming it churned out.

A Must Buy

This is a collection which not only takes you to history (as represented by Pandit Nehru) but will be a great help for generations to come to know the History of our Motherland. Its a master's work by the director, super cinematography, excellent background score & music, super realistic set design. The detailing from costume, music, set, dialogue / language, landscape for the scene each and every thing is simply perfect. I strongly recommend this product to all.

Worth watching

A great dramatization of the evolution of India from the Indus Valley Civilization to the 1930s. An ensemble cast including some of the best Indian stage actors of the era and Roshan Seth playing Nehru, acting as the narrator. It's a fine effort by Shyam Benegal. Authentic to the core, it's a far cry from the technicolor ostentation of the mythological serials from the same period. An intelligent and comprehensive look at India's history.
