The Big Bang Theory is a situational comedy about what happens when beauty comes into contact with nerds. The Big Bang Theory was created and written by Chuck Lorre, Bill Prady and Steven Molaro. The five central characters of Leonard, Sheldon, Howard, Raj and Penny are played by Johnny Galecki, Jim Parsons, Simon Helberg, Kunal Nayyar and Kaley Cuoco respectively. Leonard and Sheldon, both brilliant physicists work at Cal Tech in Pasadena, California. They are also roommates and best friends whose friendship gets tested by Sheldon's eccentric, regimented and non-conventional ways. Mechanical engineer Howard Wolowitz and astrophysicist Rajesh Koothrappalli make up the awkward group of friends that hang out together. Penny, a pretty young woman moves into the apartment next door to Leonard who starts dreaming of being her boyfriend. Being nerds, they have little luck with woman and Leonard wooing Penny makes for many a funny situation. The gang spends their time watching movies, playing video games and reading comic books.

Awesome show jarred by a poor quality DVD transfer
This is such a great show. It's a laugh out loud series which I recommend for everyone. The show is about a group of four geeks who live and work at CalTech. They are one day joined by a beautiful waitress (Penny, played by Kaley Cuoco) when she moves into a nearby apartment. Leonard, played by Johnny Galecki, has a thing for her right from the start. The DVD quality leaves a lot to be desired. Not worth the money paid. Please go for the bluray version!!!
I am giving a low rating just because of the poor video quality of the DVD!!!
