Great Read!

This book takes a reader through the years precceding the crisis and how a few investors bet against the entire system & made a killing! A brilliant book which has a great pace and once agains hows us how people get carried away by the stock market trends & successful investors are those who can think rationally in an otherwise irrational system.

What a good shot...err--short ;-)

I am a dummy as far as my financial understanding goes, but this book contrary to my fears, was unputdownable ! the tales weaved by Michael lewis are just amazingly well written. With his trademark underlined wit, this book emerges as a refreshing read among all reads on the subprime lending fiasco !

never knew we are living in such a bubble and that the most intelligent are creating a bubble. its a must read for anyone looking at a intellectual stimulus in the most lucid and intersting manner

Strongly recommended !

Fantastic Book to read

This is the book that unleash one of the Greatest Mind in the world of Investing - Michael Burry. How one eyed doctor become a legend by shorting CDOs that has been sold by Goldman to him. This book explain how investment firms which are thought to be great doesn't have clue about the instruments that has been created by them. This book also explain how corporate people screw their customers and profit from the ideas of their customers. Deutsche Bank trader made huge money by imitating the idea of Michael Burry. This is a great book to read. Don't miss.

Financial Thriller!

Lewis style of writing is amazing as ever. Sub prime crisis is something we had all heard about and read about. This book gives the complete account of the financial breakdown perpetrated by few powerful banks and financial institutions. It basically questions the morality of the age we live in. If we read this book as a follow up of the 'Liar's poker', its clearly understandable that history has repeated itself in larger and more scarier scale. Absolute page turner! Must read on anyone interested in Finance and Economics

Great Book

One of the best finance books I have read. The books deals how the messy subprime crisis was created and how it all started in 80s and died and came back. It also takes you through the basics of finance and how greedy nature of wall street screwed innocent investors.

The book deserves to be read and appreciated and so is the investment strategy and nuance of Eismer, Burry and others who knew what was coming and bet against it and made money.
