The present book entitled BIODIVERSITY comprises 18 articles pertaining to this discipline is basically a proceeding of the 17th All India Congress of Zoology held from 15th- 17th October, 2006 at Vidyanagri, Baramati, Pune. This book will be very useful for the students, teachers, and researchers in this field and it can also be used as a standard reference book.

Dr. B.N. Pandey (b.1946), Professor and Head, Dept. of Zoology, and Dean, Faculty of Science. Magadh University, Both Gaya has brilliant academic career. He was awarded Gold Medals for standing first class both at B.Sc. (Hons.) and M.Sc. level. Dr. Sadhana Deshpande is a zoologist and has done her Ph.D. in Fisheries science. Presently she is holding the post of vice-Principal of Vidya Pratishthan's ASC College, Baramati. She has behind her many years of experience in research, teaching and administration.
