BioShock is a game that made its debut during August of 2007. The main setting of the BioShock universe is the industrial age when sprockets and gears were the norm. The gameplay and storyline of BioShock and BioShock 2 have been beautifully rendered in these two games and have helped in setting up a background story about the way things turned out in Rapture, the underwater city that was built by Andrew Ryan. BioShock Infinite however, does not take place underwater, it takes place thousands of feet above the ground, in a floating city that travels around the world disguised as a vacation destination. As a result, the game is in no way a sequel or prequel to the famous predecessors.
Despite this, BioShock: Infinite is the third game in the BioShock franchise that has been developed by Irrational Games. The game, like the previous versions has been published by 2K Games. BioShock: Infinite takes graphics and gameplay to a whole new level, with game physics being more accurate and realistic. The game falls under the category of survival with elements of horror in it. The First Person Shooter element of BioShock continues on to the third game with the player only able to see the limbs of the protagonist. The game is still pending a formal rating by ESRB which should be Mature while PEGI has rated it as 18 and above for the violence and horror elements in the game.
Synopsis and Features:
The Flying City in Infinite is called Columbia. It was launched by the American Government to be a beacon of hope and exceptional ingenuity. The city took to the skies in the year 1900 and prospered for a while. The city was kept afloat with the help of giant balloons and blimps filled with light gas. The city got its name from the female form or feminine depiction of America. Columbia was to travel around the world and be a floating World Fair to be showcased to the countries of the world and become a popular holiday destination.
After a point in time, the true colors of Columbia are revealed when it undergoes a transformation into a heavily armed battleship that is capable of raining down devastating attacks on the populace below. The American Government then disavows the actions and the people of the city when they failed to cease fire and return to peaceful means. The City then disappeared off the grid and went silent for many years until people forgot about it, only to return and cause trouble and mayhem again. During the time when the city had disappeared, a lot of changes took place within it, people of the city started changing physically or mentally into perverse shadows of their former selves. Civil War broke out in the city, dividing the population into factions. Founders and Vox Populi are the two rival groups who fight for control of the city. The Founders are against foreigners in the city, while the Vox Populi are the resistance fighters.
Booker DeWitt is a former agent of the Pinkerton National Detective Agency who found himself disgraced due to some unknown circumstances. In the year 1912, he finds himself hired by a group of mysterious individuals to rescue a young woman named Elizabeth from Columbia. Elizabeth has been held captive by the Founders for over 12 years as they believe she has the power to restore control of Columbia back to them. The members of the Vox Populi however would rather kill her than have her powers destroy their hopes of stopping the Founders. Columbia is also ravaged by anomalies and tears in the fabric of space and time. This single player copy of the game is designed for the PS3.

Now let me start this review by saying - I HAVE NOT YET FINISHED THE GAME. I must have clocked in about 4-5 hours. No, this is not exactly a review for the game which I'm sure is going to be excellent. This review exists for the sole purpose of showering praise upon flipkart. For the first time, in a very long time I have actually got a Pre Order on the exact same date as the release date. Even the CD is in excellent condition. Even the much talked about reversible cover is given (which I was hoping they would give), which is the first thing I noticed and immediately changed.
Now the installation itself. When you open the box you'll immediately see three CD's. Yes, that's because it's a very huge game - 17.5GB of installation so make sure you have free space. But that's not the scary part. When you do begin the installation you will notice, it's a STEAM game. Now experienced steam users or people with low net speeds will immediately be disappointed. Yes I was too but don't worry, this game doesn't download any of the files from steam. For he first time, all the installation files are installed from the retail disc. Lastly, this game requires a shitload of graphic memory. So make sure you have a decent rig that will atleast run this game on very high or high settings (because frankly, there is minimal to no difference between high and ultra, unless you are playing on an extremely high resolution)
I guess that about sums it up. Please buy this game. I have only played for about, 5 hours but it's already turning into one of the best FPS's I have ever played.

I completed Bioshock Infinite 2-3 days earlier and I can conclude this easily that it will be the biggest/best game of the year!
To the new people, I suggest try the original bioshock before this one. Atleast get to know what the first game is all about. In your mind there may arise various questions depending on how attentively you play the game. So it'll be better if you know Rapture's universe as well, before trying Columbia.
The game's graphics are AWESOME! There is some heavy post processing in it, so the game looks very good even on DX10. The best part is the storyline. Its one of the most memorable you'll find in a game. Some of the great recent games like Tomb Raider, I was over them in just a day after completing it, but it's been 3-4 days but I can't get Bioshock Infinite's story out of my mind.
Combat is pretty much fun, given the new kinda powers, the vigors, and the various weapons, from heater to repeater, hand cannon to shotgun, carbine to sniper, etc. My fav vigors were charge and shock jockey. I kinda missed a multiplayer. The skylines can perfectly fit into a decent multiplayer. But still singleplayer's the best thing.
All in all, be the judge yourself. I'm sure you're gonna love this game!
After about the last 15 minutes or so of Bioshock Infinite, I sat spellbound, watching the credits roll while my mind was swirling in an attempt to fully comprehend the implications of what I think one of the best endings ever experienced in any medium of entertainment. Then I watched it all over again.
And the 12 or so hours that leads up to this powerful and mind blowing ending had been equally impressive. The air-borne city in the clouds Columbia is breathtakingly gorgeous (and equally mysterious) and so are the art direction and the soundtrack.
The story of course is outright brilliant and the strongest part of the game, supported by very memorable characters with Elizabeth leading the cast. She surely is the best companion character since Alyx Vance in HL2 and much more.
The combat, while being very solid, is the weaker point in the game as it almost follows the Bioshock formula of mixing gun play and vigors (aka plasmids). It remains fun throughout but does not introduce any new concepts except skyrail combat which is really great but remains underused.
Bioshock infinite is definitely a game that will surpass being just a game and go down in the history as a work of art like Ico, Shadow of the Colossus, Final fantasy 7.
Please do yourself a favour and just play it before getting spoiled. the money spent is well worth it.
There are no better words to put this.order this game right away. This is money well spent.I preordered this game received the game little late but oh boy Bioshock:infinite is awesome.
Graphics:
Unlike previous games this game is based on Unreal 3 Engine (previous games were based on Unreal 2.5). If your comp has high config you can see the details xbox or ps3 can never deliver.you will fall in love with the art work of this game.
Gameplay:
this is where Bioshock infinite disappoints.enemies are little repetitive but fun.some of the upgrades are useless and does not add excitement to the game. combat sometimes feel unbalanced
Story:
This is where Bioshock shines.DO NOT READ SPOILERS. play yourself and you will know what i am talking about.i am science fiction fan and this story is better than most of the sci-fi movies.
overall 9/10 you will definitely play this game again on easy to go through the story again.start with Hard difficulty.other modes are easy except 1999 mode which is recommended for 2nd playthrough.
believe me this game is amazing and among best games i have played so far... whats unique is its storyline... you can't get its...
