Biotechnology

Biotechnology is a rapidly growing fiedl of Biological Science due to its wide application in several branches of applied science. It has immense potential for its application in industrial microbiology, environmental microbiology, production of antibiotics and vaccines, immunology and serology. Biotechnology is also applied for use of microbes in biodegration, biotransformation, bioremedian and biocontrol. Thus, biotechnology not only attracts the attention of biologist but also of environmentalist, chemist, and pharmacists. This book has been prepared to fulfill this reuirement. It is the firs attempt ever of its kind, undertakne with a view to provide distinc advantage of its user towards instant understanding of technical terms. Special efforts have been made towards recent developments in the subject to keep the content up-to-date. It includes about 1000 technological terms.

B.N. Pandey, M.Sc. (gold medalist), Ph.D.: Dr. Pandey is an eminent Professor of zoology with specialization in Fish Biology. Presently, he is profesor & Head of the Department of zoology, Magadh Univrsity Bodh Gaya and also President of ZSI. He has supervised 40 Ph.d. students, authored 24 books wrote many book chapters and published more than 160 research papers in reputed journals of India and abroad. He is fellow of many scientific bodies. P.N.Pandey is a senior Professor of the post-graduate department of zoology of Ranchi University, Ranchi. He acquired his bachelor's, master's and Ph.d. degree from Ranchi University, Ranchi. He is a Member/Life member/Member, Board of Management of many scientific bodies. He has supervised twelve Ph.d. and one D.Sc. student. He has published moe than 70 research papers in National and International Journal and has written several books chapters.
