Biotech’s Dictionary Of Toxicology

Formally, toxicology - toxic + ology - means science of poisons. But, in an industrial agent, its meaning has acquired wider connotations and polluting agents like CO, CO2, heavy metals—which cause diseases over a long period rather than quick death, have been included as its subject matter. The ecological concerns of mankind are reflected in it. The biological revolution has affected it profoundly and genetic effects of various environmental factors now form a part of toxicology. With no great a variety, it is no wonder that the student is confused over new and unfamiliar words. This dictionary, we hope, will go a long way towards solving these problems.
