Black Walnut

Black Walnut is an intriguing story of a former Marine and Viet Nam veteran who witnessed the brutal, cold-blooded slaughter of all of his company except his best friend and two other Marines. Sometimes continuous exposure to catastrophic situations can affect a person's mental abilities and, in Robert Stone's case, he developed the ability to read minds and see into the future. Using his new-found abilities, "Stoney" changes his adopted hometown of Northern Star, Pennsylvania from a rural and forgotten area into a growing and prosperous community. In the early summer of 1985, Stoney finally meets the woman he has seen in his visions to be his future wife. However, Kay Worthington doesn't believe in and cannot accept his abilities. After a brief romance she decides to return to her home and teaching position in Philadelphia. Will unexpected events bring them back together or is it too late for that. ABOUT THE AUTHOR Dorothy Livingston formerly had a career in the legal field, having worked for two law enforcement agencies in Arizona at the state and city levels. Subsequent to that, she was a legal secretary for attorneys in Arizona and Pennsylvania. In recent years, she has been able to pursue her life-long dream of becoming a writer. Dorothy lives in the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania with Bob, her husband of over forty years. She now spends her time actively writing books and enjoying her five young grandchildren.
