The BlackBerry Bold 9650 is a Research In Motion (RIM) mobile which supports both CDMA and GSM networks. You can insert a SIM card in the built-in SIM card slot to activate a GSM network connection. The handset comes with a BlackBerry 6 OS which helps you experience faster browsing, streamlined multimedia and social feeds. There are well-spaced QWERTY keypad has a tactile feel which makes typing quick and accurate.

The Bold features a 3.2 megapixel camera with resolution of 480 x 360 pixels. The phone camera comes with LED flash, image stabilization and up to 2x zoom. This helps you to take better quality pictures. The 9650 has a TFT display with a screen size of 2.44-inch which supports 65K colours.

Design

The BlackBerry Bold has a touch-sensitive optical trackpad which makes navigating through the phone menu easy. The trackpad facility is very user friendly and can be used extensively to navigate menu, gallery and browse web pages seamlessly.

A 3.5 mm audio jack is present on the right side of the phone, along with the volume rocker and a customizable shortcut key. On the back you will find the camera and the flashlight. Removing the back panel of the phone, there is a slot for the microSD cards.

Storage and Battery

The BlackBerry 9650 supports 512 MB onboard memory which can be expanded up to 32 GB using microSD card, microSDHC cards. The phone is powered by Li-Ion 1400 mAh battery which gives a talk time of 5 hours and standby time of 312 hours. You can tune into your favourite music numbers throughout the day as the battery can provide continuous music for 18 hours.

Connectivity and Features

The Bold can access the Internet through GPRS, Wi-Fi, EDGE and 3G. Connectivity options like Bluetooth and USB connectivity lets you transfer data easily. The preloaded applications like Twitter, Facebook help you to get in touch with your friends anytime you want.

You can access the BlackBerry App World on the BlackBerry 9650 and download applications according to your needs and interests. Other applications like BlackBerry Maps, Document editor (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, PDF),Document viewer and organizer are also available in the handset. The BlackBerry bold helps you to pinpoint your location, plan your route and get directions with the in-built GPS.
