The Book Of The Secrets Of Enoch

Readers with interest in Apocalyptic literature and of the origins of Christianity will find this book to be fascinating. For more than 1200 years this book has not been known outside of Russia and it was known only in the slavonic language. The author was a Hellenistic jew and the place of its composition was Egypt about the beginning of the Christian era. It was much read during the first three centuries of the of the church, and influenced many other writings. This 1896 English edition is the first such publication. The actual book of Enoch consists of 100 pages which are preceded by a 42 page introduction that provides a scholarly historical review to help the reader understand the linguistic origins and the relevance of the text.
