Developed by Gearbox Software, Borderlands 2 is a gripping role playing game with dominant focus on First Person game play elements. Only while entering and using vehicles does the camera shift its focus to third person perspective mapping. The game is set on Pandora, a planet that holds an Alien Vault. This vault is said to contain untold riches in minerals, technology and weapon systems.

The game is a continuation of the previous title, Borderlands, which saw the opening of the first Vault with disastrous consequences for those involved in its discovery. The storyline and game play continue on the same principle with quests, side-quests and campaign missions to be completed in order to progress in the game. You play as one of four mercenaries or Vault Hunters who scour the planet in search of the fabled Vault. The game is published by 2K and comes with a PEGI rating of 18 for strong violence and language.

The game of the year edition comes with Borderlands 2, Captain Scarlett and her Pirate’s Booty, Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep, Mr. Torgue’s Campaign of Carnage, Creature Slaughter Dome and Sir Hammerlock’s Big Game Hunt additions. You also get Premiere Club Content like Gaige, The Mechromancer Character Class, Gearbox Gun Packs, Golden Key and the Vault Hunter’s Relic. The GOTY edition also comes with the Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack and many other goodies.

The GOTY edition of Borderlands 2 is perfect. It includes all the released DLCs on a separate disc. All can be installed easily from the disc and an internet connection is not required to activate them. All patches, skins and add ons are included.

Borderlands 2 rampage

I can't remember any game that will throw this much content for a price of 499. The base game itself takes around 50hrs to complete in 1 mode. Add 2 more modes (1 + 1 DLC, TVHM and UVHM). Multiply that by 6 classes (4 + 2 as DLCs). Even the legendary Skyrim will be put to shame if it was to come face to face with B2. And no this game doesn't gets boring even after you spend 1000 hours killing bandits, robots & creatures. There is so much to explore, such extreme variety in enemies and the story (with some of the most hilarious dialogues ever spoken in any game and excellent motion capture than… I can't remember any game that will throw this much content for a price of 499. Add to that the 4 story DLCs and you can say good bye to other games (and vacation. beware of this nasty trap by Gearbox) for at least another year.

For new comers: This ain't your run of the mill shooter. You need to learn the basics of combat and how each enemies differ with their fighting tactics and weaponry. Rush in like a crazy drunk alcoholic and you'll find yourself dead in seconds. The game will start off with the most boring intro of any game i have ever played with a boss fight within first 5min. Get over this and play for a couple of hours till the real story really kicks in. Only then all the pieces will come together and you'll start to enjoy the combat. Play as Axton or Gaige if you want a proper start. Advisable not to play as Salvador as it makes combat a bit too easy and you'll face stiff challenge when playing as Zero or Maya or frustratingly difficult once you switch to Kreig (but both Kreig and Salvador shines in TVHM & UVHM).

For B2 owners: Get this copy before flipkart runs low on stock. Each of those included DLCs cost more than the GOTY edition game itself.

The real fun start once you complete the base game and start TVHM (true vault hunters mode). Enemies will have better AI, deadly weapons, more health and some common enemies will get enhancement to turn them into a real threat. By that time you'll have unlocked around 25+ skills which make gameplay even more. Also because you have 6 class of vault hunters each with different play style and skill set, gameplay will never feel the same. When playing as Salvador you can run into a fight and blast everyone to bits whereas with Zero you are better off sniping from a distance distance or switch to melee. With Axton, let his turret will do your dirty work (i mean killing), mostly. This also makes some of the missions downright easy when playing as some class and really difficult when playing as the others which keeps the momentum going. Once you complete TVHM, its time for UVHM (DLC). By that time you'll have learnt the game inside out, know weaknesses of all enemies, all shortcuts in each area, how the weaponry works and how to approach each mission because you'll seriously need it if you want to survive.

But thats nothing once you hook up with your buddies and go on Co-Op rampage. 2/3/4 vault hunters facing against a ton of enemies. It makes for one big bloody mess with bullets flying everywhere. The real fun is Co-Op but you won't miss much if you prefer solo, except when going against the raid bosses and there are plenty of them (7-8, i guess) and each one will present an unforgivable challenge. Don't test them unless you are really well equipped and know what you are getting yourself into.

Also because the GOTY copy will include all updates released till date (1GB+), you won't be forced to wait while the game updates itself.

Well thats it for the review. Grab your copy before flipkart shows the out of stock banner. You'll regret if you miss out as this kind of offer doesn't appear everyday. (Expand)

Amazing Deal

Just received my copy of B.Lands 2 GOTY Edition. Most insane deal ever available. Received item in 2 day's time. Plopped in the DVD and it's installing straight away. In itself this is an amazing game and as stated before, the contents of this edition are well worth (and loads more) the price you're paying for it - don't think too much, just grab it.

Steam activated since it's a steamworks game, in case anyone was curious.

In case you are still doubtful: STEAM ACTIVATED.

Awesome game at great price

I ordered this game on 22nd oct. And flipkart delivered it on 24th the game itself is great at 500rs only . I don't remember any game with that much content comes with this price. Now come to the game, the game has a very good story line with many customizations and lots of guns many kind of different enemies with different skills and you also got many skills and many characters you can choose from and with all the add ons this game is best.

I'm coming from a background where I absolutely hated the first installation of the game. It was boring as hell for me. So I was skeptical about Borderlands 2.

But saw that it's for 500Rs. which is practically nothing given the amount of content you get in it, so I took a gamble!

Well, I've been playing for about 20 hours now. Having fun and not for a moment I thought - "Gee, this is boring!". Fantastic game!

Installation wise it uses SteamworksAPI for Game Achievement and Matchmaking, so you will need to create a Steam account(if you don't have one that is).
