Born To Die (Music, Audio CD) Price: Rs. 445

Highly anticipated 2012 debut album from the New York-based singer, songwriter and performer. She has described herself as a "gangsta Nancy Sinatra" and cites Britney Spears, Thomas Newman and Bruce Springsteen as her musical influences. Lana Del Rey's direct influences were visual as well as musical; David Lynch, soundtracks for `50s black and white movies, the whirring sound of the Ferris at Coney Island, fame itself. She lived in a New Jersey trailer park and decked her homestead in flags, streamers and seasonally inappropriate Christmas lights. Like these things she loves, the album sparkles with color and vitality. Includes the hit singles 'Video Games' and 'Blue Jeans'.

Different from others... stunning

Lana's music might not be everyone's cup of tea. The beauty of sadcore mixed with haunting voice, is just too amazing. More of a a retro type singer. The concept of the songs is too good. Very different from mainstream pop. Specially recommended for the ones, tired of listening to all the auto tuned meaningless crap....

ive been listening to her songs since a year, and now finally.. i purchased this album ! ive searched for the CD every where but was not able to find it anywhere .. FINALLY Flipkart made my wish come true.
her songs are dark, lovely, creepy, soulful. not everyone will love or like her song. BUT i would prefer everyone to give this album one chance.. I personally love one song from this album.. DARK PARADISE.. and all the songs are the best.. video games, born to die etc..
best lyrics and soulful songs and melodious voice.. made me to give this album 5 STARS !!

Haunting - Wonder who's that guy who broke her Heart

Some of the songs are just run of the mill, but the few ones, like "Blue Jeans", "Million Dollar Man" are sung with such intensity, you just feel it.

Summertime Sadness is my ultimate lift-up song. So much pain, and sadness, but hauntingly good sadness.

She has overcome and grown as a person. But she's different for it !

Best album of the year.

Not to everyone's delight but exceptional music!

Bob Marley quotes-One good thing about music, when it hits you, you feel no pain. Lana Del Rey's Born to Die is an exceptional example of painful, slow, deep and dark melodies. Each and every song is carefully treated, with vocals and elegant tune. One thing this album stands out is lyrics. They are just beautiful. You might like it or you won't. This album is not everyone's delight but if you like this genre, I am sure you would find it to be addictive!

Absolutely love this woman and her superb voice. She goes from gangster to starstruck in a split second. The album might feel "dragged-on", so you might need to listen in installments. It's a fresh departure from the pop music of today.

Best tracks IMO:
"Off to the Races"
"Video Games"
"Lucky Ones"

Queen of sultry pop

Lana Del Rey is one those artists who's songs are meant to reflect on the actual sadness of life.
Along with her voice, her lyrics, and lovely pout her videos just become more eye-opening and beautiful and meaningful.
On a scale of one to ten, this album deserves a bloody 20!!!!!!

The human music ...

Her music is not perfect. And that's because it has human elements, it has a soul. The lyrics, the voice, the music, they all actually sychronise with the mood producing an intoxicating effect.

Love it.
