This device is an ear-type thermometer and measures your body temperature with a quick response time of just one second. Featured with a memory function, this Braun ear-type thermometer can save the reading of your last temperature measurement.
Body
Ergonomically built, the Braun IRT3020 ear thermometer is small and compact. The shape of the thermometer is designed to prevent it from being inserted too far into the ear canal to damage the ear drum, hence making the thermometer extremely safe to use. The Braun ear-type digital thermometer houses a LCD display supported with backlight, thus enhancing clarity and providing easy viewing even at night. Along with the LCD display, the thermometer also accommodates an easy activation button and a memory button.This digital thermometer has a probe tip which has an infrared projection that is used to send infrared rays to detect your body temperature. This projection is covered by replaceable lens filters for maintaining hygienic standards. These lens filters come with the thermometer and are used to ensure accurate readings. The filters can be replaced and is very important as the thermometer will not function without the lens filters.

The digital IRT3030US thermometer by Braun uses infrared technology to measure your body temperature. The thermometer is non-invasive. Unlike conventional thermometers, the operation of this thermometer doesn't call for inserting the device in any part of your body making it safe and hygienic. All you need to do is place the device in your ear canal.The goal of thermometry is to measure core body temperature and clinical studies have proved that ear temperature reflects core body temperature. This makes this Braun thermometer reliable and efficient as the device measures the heat generated by the ear drum and the surrounding tissues. The infrared projection at the tip of the thermometer detects this heat, thereby giving you accurate and reliable measurements. This digital thermometer scans by taking 8 measurements in just one second and displays the highest temperature ensuring you with professional accuracy.
Equipped with a buzzer alarm, the alarm in this digital Braun thermometer beeps at the end of each measurement reminding you when the measurement is completed. The measurement readings are displayed in 3 digits and you can toggle between Celsius and Fahrenheit units by pressing the activation buttons. The IRT3030US digital thermometer also features a water resistant function, thus allowing you to clean the device after use. Good product, but unusable
I purchased this product a few months ago. Braun, no doubt, is one of the best brands for ear thermoters. The machine itself is great and works as it says on the box.
But I will discourage everyone from buying this. Getting the caps for the thermometer is next to impossible. Flipkart wont sell it (maybe due to margins or availability). None of the chemists in bangalore have this and it is not available on any e-commerce website in india as well. Please make sure you purchase from a retailer who will also supply you with the caps, else avoid this product.

Accurate(probably) reading in under 2 seconds.
Cons :
You need to keep on buying the caps.
The product handling is not intuitive.
