New York's Brighton Beach in the late thirties is inhabited by many European Jews who have fled persecution and poverty and come to the United States in search of a better life. They have fled persecution and poverty. The boardwalk, fireworks, steeplechase and Luna Park's dancehall paints a future that looks quite enchanting for the girls and boys growing up in Brighton Beach.
