Buffalo MiniStation USB 3.0 1 TB portable External Hard Disk

1) This is a Japanese product and not bad as the Chinese stuff you get.
2) Price is way lesser than Western Digital and Seagate and better looking too.
3) Small, compact and very light and the material used is of good quality.
4) I noticed that it doesn't vibrate a lot comparing to other hard disks during data transfer nor does it make any noise.
5) Green light when you connect to USB 2 and blue light for USB 3
6) Option to encrypt your data
7) 3 year warranty, so retain your bill and box if you have issues (I've not had any till now)
8) Bought it from SP Road Bangalore. Price is same as Flipkart.
9) Noticed this is given as MiniStation Stealth on Flipkart but its just Ministation written on the box.

A very good product with all the desirable ingredients in right proportion: sleek 1 TB stylish drive with USB 3.0 interface!

Flipkart pricing is on the higher side for this product, so, didn't buy it from flipkart. Also, the mentioned dimensions and weight are for the 500GB model, for 1 TB it's 76 x 114 x 17 mm and 210 g. USB 3.0 cable is sturdy and approximately 0.5 meter in length.

You will love it. its very much small in size. easily fits in your pocket . Data transfer is very fast . if you connect to USB 3.0 it shows blue color light and if you connect with USB 2.0 it shows green color light . i have received this with in 2 days of order. Thanks to flipkart .

Just before a week, this little beauty(not anymore!) stopped working. Yea i have dropped it, but that was not even 5 cms down the ground. After that it started acting weird. I can see this HDD in devices and printers window(windows 7). and my pc even detects this as a usb drive. but this drive never showed up in windows explorer. It has stopped its beat(the disk inside never rotates!!). i have got my life inside (pics, hard-collected movies, etc etc). The recovery guys(3rd party guys) said they will take it to their place and it may take two or three days. But i have got all my family pics inside and i have no guts to give it to unknowns. i have enquired the service center and they were sneaky about the data. they are ready to replace the product but again, they will take my HDD to Chennai(i am from Blore), there they will analyse the HDD and if its repairable i ll get the same HDD or if cant, i ll get a new one. that again is risky as i cant put it in transit and it may settle on anybody's hand... :( now i have no choice other than buying a new one.
So, flipkartians, if you have any valuable data, please dont keep it in HDD, better go for online storages like google drive(simplest one with 5gb of free storage).

As usual, got it within two days. nthng to explain about flipkart's standards:)
This is my first external HDD and i had no idea how it would look like, how big it would be, how reliable it would be...
When i opened the seal, i was totally amazed as the size is not much bigger than the samsung S3. and it doesnt weigh more than that.
and wen i connected it to my USB port, it splashed a green light(cause mine is USB 2.0) and its like, "Ok, am good to begin with!"
then i went into the drive and found some utilities, and without any hesitation i installed that as well and it doesnt disappoint me, it had come with a good file-copy app which surely performs better than turbo-copy(a paid app).
the USB cable is not much small, and if u have to connect to a usb port which lies in the rear of ur cpu, then u ll find some difficulties.
If you are confused between WD passport and Buffalo Ministation, trust me, you wont regret after buying this HDD...

i bought buffalo after reading lots of rave reviews from the users and reviewers over here. i decided to buy this one over seagate mostly because of the money. I bought it from my vendor rather than flipkart. After i bought, within 2-3 weeks, this drive crashed. i stored about some 200-300 GB of important data inside this hard drive, which now i cant retrieve. Though buffalo support is upto the mark they have allowed me to open the casing and try and retrieve the data without voiding my warranty, yet the product itself is faulty. Also after i have faced this problem and upon asking some other colleagues of mine, they also told that the product of buffalo is not at all good, their support services though are top notch. yet for me the data that was stored inside the Hard disk is more pricey than that of the drive itself.

So from my side i would never recommend anyone to buy this disk, rather go for the costlier seagate and WD. at least you would have the peace of mind.
