The game is the 3rd instalment in the Modern Warfare series and marks the 8th sequel in the Call of duty series. The game offers 3 gaming modes namely, campaign, multiplayer and special ops. The campaign mode allows you to take on the roles of different soldiers and follow the story where you have to achieve a series of objectives to complete the mission. The missions can include anything from eliminating enemies to defending a territory and more.

The special ops mode allows you to team up with a fellow friend and play the missions through a split screen. You can use the find match option to link up with a player online or through a private match to link up with a friend. You can select the solo option to test your skills on your own.

The multiplayer mode has been revamped as the killstreak reward system in the game is completely redesigned. There are new game modes, a gun progression system that modifies your weapons according to your progress and 16 maps. The multiplayer mode also includes a new survival mode where hordes of enemies come at you once. These increase level by level as more enemies start coming at you as you progress.
