It Can't Be You

I love reading Indian fiction but only recommended books since there are way too many in the market. My friend had been following the reviews of It Can't Be You on Facebook and picked it up for a weekend read. She finds novels in the suspense/mystery genre very interesting and told me that she simply couldn't put it down. I read it over the Republic Day holiday and agree that it's a "must read".

The author's writing style appealed to me very much. I'm sure young India would relate very much to the characters - Shefali and Pritam as I could on several levels identify with them. The last two chapters kept me at the edge of my seat. Overall, amazing!!

I think this thriller is a gripper! It catches your attention from the beginning to the end. What I liked best was that even the parts where there wasn't too much action were absorbing. I never felt bored even for a minute.

The book was quite handy by way of size and I read it from start to finish comfortably in just a few sittings. Recommended highly for those who like to read stories set in India and about crime and suspense.

The suspense in the novel makes it well worth the read. The way the principal characters tell their own story makes the plot more credible and leaves the reader guessing till the very end. The detailed descriptions make us feel as if we know the characters who are very cleverly portrayed. Well crafted plot with a good amount of context thrown in, It Can't Be You is a brilliant novel.

This piece of fiction is an interesting blend of human psychology and the military. I particularly liked the pace at which the story unfolds and found the characters' first person narratives very enjoyable. Recommend it.

It Can't Be You is a crisply written novel.....a must read. Look forward to the author's next.
