Product Description

The Speedlite 430EX II boasts a powerful flash with a fast recycling time in a compact and durable body. Ideal for flash photography, this flash is compatible with Canon's wireless E-TTL.

Body and Design

Featuring a small and durable body, the Speedlite 430EX II comes with a metal foot for added strength. You can tilt the flash head upwards from 0 - 90°, left from 0 - 180°, and right from 0 - 90°. It comes with a quick release and locking mechanism so you can attach or detach the flash from the camera easily.

Recycling Time

Speedlite 430EX II has a fast and silent recycling time so you don't have to wait to take the next shot.

Full Flash Control

When used with compatible EOS Digital SLR cameras, the Speedlite 430EX II settings can be controlled through the camera menu system.

Image Size Zoom Control

With cameras with auto zoom, the Speedlite 430EX II zooms automatically to match the camera's image size.

Power

This flash is powered by 4 AA alkaline batteries or NiMH rechargeable batteries.

A good flash Indeed, but leaves me craving for more...(for the buck)!

I placed order on flipkart for this 430 EXII Speedlite on 1st of October and got it delivered by 8th of October, which is reasonable considering they only had 4 working days.

Now coming to the Speedlite itself, I wanted to buy a flash for my EOS550D and was "googling" for a good match. I did a fair bit of research before zeroing on this. Great accessory for an SLR

Expensive, but worth every rupee. You must have this if you need some great indoor pics. I have got some stunning pictures by bouncing light off my white ceiling. Thanks to Canon for making such a fantastic flash! I use this with eneloop rechargeable NiMH batteries and they easily last a few hundred shots with good recycle time.

best budget flash that does the job very well

excellent performance from this speedlite. rightly priced and does what it promises to do. quality of images are enhanced especially in poor lighting, where the on camera flash results in harsh reflections.
Flipkart delivery was prompt as usual. overall a great product from canon

Important and integral part of photography

Bought it as i felt the need of better lighting as the inbuilt 60D flash left me craving for more.
Get it if u feel light is important for Photography.It increases the potential of the camera.
Factors for considering.
1) I Prefer Canon.You could also consider Metz 50 AF1
2) Full control from Camera.
3) Got a good deal at Flipkart(10% additional discount)

Good alternative for those who are on a tight budget

The best Canon flash for the amateur and beginners. Everything works fine except master mode. Master mode or commander mode is only available in 600EX ERT in current Canon line up.

Canon 430EX II

Product is as expected. Solid build with metal shoe. The flash is bright enough to light up an entire 15'x18' room as day light. Best for use as bounce and slave in closed rooms and fill flash outdoors.

It works effortlessly out of the box for compatible EOS cameras. I use EOS 600D and very happy with the performance. The auto zoom and ETTL II features are awesome. The flash cycle time is good too, within 3secs. Depends on battery. The flash can caliberate the amount of light to use based on...

Excellent Product

I bought this for my EOS 60D camera and I am glad I bought it. Besides the usual features of any flash, what makes it great are its ETTL mode which makes it makes it automatically compatible with the camera's flash metering mode, and seamless wireless integration with EOS 60D which works like a charm.

Overall, a great value for money!!

Canon Speedlite 430 EX II Flash for Canon EOS 550D

I bought a Canon Speedlite 430EX II from Flipkart because the built-in flash on my Canon EOS 550D produces harsh shadows. I have been using the 430 EX II flash for about 4 weeks now.

I am a beginner as far as flash photography goes. So I chose the 430EX II above the Canon 580 EX II which costs twice as much. One thing that the 430 EX II does not do is control slave flash units. But that will come later.
