As good as it gets.
This easily is one of the best Lens I have owned. One of its kind. The 'L' says it all.
Amazing performance in the day light condition and equally great performance at low light mode.
Looking at the images, you will never be able to tell that 'IS' is missing. Crisp and sharp images.
I tried covering a complete stage performance using this lens and it worked like a charm. I shot with 1/250sec @ F/4 with varying ISO settings with handheld. I have nothing to say but Amazing. The output had...

good pick
love this beast.....works well for my types of likes...wildlife and portraits.....gives a good bokeh, very silent,quite heavy, love the design (almost dust proof)......the size does not fit in my normal eos bag pack....but over all a good pick. happy with my purchase.

One this that the AF is fast, very fast. Color contrast and sharpness is just brilliant. So it is a cheapest specialist zoom lens.
Do not comprare it with 70-300, altogether different beast...
You will get some respect and style along with the lens and its image quality...
Best part I like is everything moves inside the barrel, so no dust or damage. Front element does not rotate...and ...

A:EOS 1500d is an APC camera so it will be compatible.. Canon EF lens are compatible with both APC and full frame..however canon EF-S lens are only compatible with APC camera.

Body and Design
This Canon USM Lens boasts Fluorite and ultra-low dispersion (UD) elements to reduce chromatic aberrations and deliver clear and sharp images. The lens is constructed with 16 elements in 13 groups.
Performance
This lens has a minimum focal length of 70 mm and a maximum focal length of 200 mm which is great for both professional and amateur photographers. It has a minimum focusing distance of 1.2 metres. Aperture rating at max focal length is f/4 and minimum focal length is f/32.
Image Stabilizer
The Image Stabilizer of the lens provides an equivalent effect of a shutter speed four stops faster.
Ultrasonic Motor
