a breif comparison:
picture quality- both of them does wonders n there is nothing much to notice between them...
build -no doubt about it that nikon beats canon in this respect, canon is lil plasticky
controls- canon leads here with much simpler and good ergonomics.
interface on canon also looks quite proffesional..

Great Camera for Beginners ! Good Deal !
I placed an order on the 24th of October , was given a date of 4th for delivery! Was really excited and hence was tracking the delivery from day 1 ! Received it 1 day earlier than committed , good stuff Flipkart. Also, excellent packaging for such a fragile product .

The program AE shooting modes provided in this camera include the Full Auto, Flash Off, Creative Auto, Portrait, Landscape, Close-up, Sports, Night Portrait and Program Mode, while the manual modes include shutter-priority AE, aperture-priority AE, manual exposure and automatic depth-of-field AE.
The camera provides a maximum shutter speed of 1/4000 sec to capture fast moving objects with good clarity, while the minimum 30-second shutter speed lets you capture low light scenes with increased exposures.
With an ISO range of 100 to 6400, you can be sure of capturing pictures of excellent clarity and quality even in poorly lit situations.
The camera offers a 63-zone TTL full-aperture metering along with other modes such as Evaluative Metering, Partial Metering and Centre-weighed Average Metering.
The camera is designed with a built-in retractable auto-pop flash with a coverage of approximately 17mm lens angle of view.
The camera comes with an 18 - 55 mm EF/EF-S kit lens for versatile and basic use. The lens is useful for close-up shots, sceneries and portraits too.
The device supports the SD, SDHC and SDXC memory card types to record both photos and videos. The images can be captured in JPEG, RAW and DPOF formats, while the videos are captured in MOV and MPEG-4 AVC / H.264 formats.
The camera can be connected to a mono microphone to record sound of good quality. A Hi-speed USB 2.0 cable can be connected to the device to transfer data. The device can also be connected with a HDMI type C cable for fast data transfer.
The device is powered by an LP-E10 rechargeable battery for extended battery life.
