There is no point saying "I like Canon or I like Nikon". Facual reviews are always better.
I am trying to list down few of them - I am sure there are more. If personal comfort (like holding the camera or looking at the label "Canon" or "Nikon" makes you happy), then this review is not for you...

This is my first DSLR – and a after good 3 months of carefully reviewing all the Semi Pro and Upper-Entry models – both Canon as well as Nikon. Reviewed Bogs, videos, visits to shop and checking the models out – finally I preferred it over all. If you go by specs by specs – well, pundits would advice you some other model [I mean Nikon d7000 :)], but with all due respect, here are my 5 points of choosing this over ALL:
1. The design and ergonomics – it just felt right in hand – both the grip and the weight. There is so much talk of Magnesium Alloy body, but heck, the whole body then becomes tank like and bulky. It may be somebody’s fascination [who likes to drop camera’s - butterfingers], not mine. And yes, I don’t want to get lost over buttons on camera body. The Menu operations are easy to find and select – unlike the Nikon’s where you might keep on scrolling down and down to find the one to select.
2. Image quality: I have taken photos myself and checked many reviews. I loved the warm and color punch in 60D vis-à-vis all others. I don’t have need of higher ISOs and as many reviews says, Canon metering are much more accurate than Nikons, hence does not have the Auto-exposure problems.
3. Video performance: I definitely wanted a camera which is good both in photos AND videos. 60D probably had one of the best video controls [better than big brother 7D]. So if you plan to use your camera for both photos as well as videos, this is the best choice.
4. Flip out screen: Well, people who never used the Flip out screen, would never know what it can do in taking shots in most difficult angles and levels. I have a Canon older P&S [with some manual control] and it has given me shots that otherwise impossible to compose. This is a great feature for taking videos and while using Tripods too.
5. In camera RAW processing: With this camera, I started taking RAW images and 60Ds in camera processing just gives me a world of opportunities. This feature is just amazing at this price point, and I believe , introduced first in EOS series.
Having said all, its finally personal choice and you should take your own call. More importantly, your choice of lenses would be critical in the image quality that you produce.
Finally, a word about Flipkart. You guys did it once again, delivered before time, well packed and sealed. Way to go! Would have loved to see some offers options with other lenses and camera bags etc.
Sensible camera, loads of features. My first DLSR and loving it. Bought it back in march 2011. Excellent capabilities and the tilt screen adds to it. Focusing pretty neat with the 18-135mm IS. Things that matter: Excellent grip, feels sturdy and feels like an extension of your hand... not as heavy as 7D; although 7D has it perks but then image quality is the same. There's no button for white balance but then keep that to Auto, shoot in RAW format and adjust the WB on your computer, idiots!
Movie mode is brilliant and audio recording is nice; much better than any other SLR, of any brand. Only one issue with the 60D... even at this price it is not weather sealed and so its not as rugged as 7D. But then see the price difference! Its 30k cheaper than the 7D!
This is very nice SLR, i loved it over 7D because of its tilting screen.
