Canon PowerShot A2300 Point & Shoot

i bought it to gift from mumbai fort lane in 6430 with VAT,,,without bill it was available in 5700
I am having also a camera sony powershot W220 which is worth of 11000 in 2009.
wen i m comparing these cameras i found it is very good deal in around half price
the best things of this camera
:very LIGHT weight 126 with batter, even lighter than fones
:the best thing is its a auto focus camera,there is no button for making settting for scene recognition, u just point n shoot.
you dont need to go for any setting like twilight,night shot,beach shot,day light as u hv to do in sony.
:available in cool colors, pink is a good choice
:4GB+Camera case is again a saving of 300-400 which is free with this pack
:Resolution and picture quality is very
I click same scene from both camera, and wen i saw those pics on my lappy, found dat canon's image is better bright n bigger {{{4608 x 3456 (L) }}, which is the highest among any oder brand
i wud give 8.5/10

I dint buy it from flipkart, as i had an urgent requirement. moreover the price is still at par with the shop where from i bought it. About the cam, i feel its a very good camera in this range. it gives original color, which lacks in the similar budget Nikon(yellowish) or Sony(redish) models. Macro is very very good comparing to other cam in this range. If you have passion in photography, you can start experimenting with "depth of field" with the macro option. here are some pros & cons:

Good points:
1) 5x optical zoom.
2) Small and slim, light and sleek.
3) 16 Megapixel Sensor.
4) Very good macro in this range.
5) good quality picture, comparing to other models in this range.(dnt go for the quality reflected in the camera LCD, see in any laptop then you can feel the difference.
6) Good battery performance

Bad points:

1) No optical image stabilisation.(in a bit low light and with 3-5X zoom the images comes blur. but dnt worry it happened only where the light is low. in day light or using flash this will not pinch you)
2) Digital IS is not full resolution.
3) No optical zoom while in movie mode.
4) No pause button in movie mode(its very common.)
5) No Panorama mode
6) Poor High ISO noise performance.

Overall: if ur budget is limited to 6-6.5/7 K, then its an awesome camera in this range. Highly recommended for the begginers. there will be a number of pros & cons in each models. But as you are picking up a camera your primary requirement should be whether it is giving a good quality pic or not? in this area its marvellous, even the video quality is in HD. Lacking of panorama mode is a serious drawback. but no model is perfect. Go for it.

It is the best model in Canon-Powershot series. It does have the said pro's and the said con's as well. I too experienced it immediately after buying this from a retail store. Initially,I was looking forward to buy Canon A2400 IS which has got the built in image stability which can convert a moving image to a still image. I went to buy this model with the notion of built IS feature. Before going ahead, I went through the bad reviews. Even after I went further to buy it with risk. But my decision got changed because of the sales person. She showed me features and also she clicked the pictures from both the models. I got surprised. The Canon A2400 IS model doesn't work with the said feature as compared to Canon A2300 model, it does have a digital image stabilizer and works well with it. Only a display setup is required.The A2400 Model built-in IS feature didnt work with it. The sales person recommended to buy Canon A2300 instead of Canon A2400 IS which has similar feature but not an expected performance. Finally, I bought Canon A2300 and gave the best performance which I expected. It's worth buying among all canon powershot models.

But only if your price range is around 6500! This camera is better than Nikon Coolpix S2600 Point & Shoot, Sony Cybershot W 610 Point & Shoot, Nikon Coolpix L26 Point & Shoot, Canon PowerShot A2400 Point & Shoot. One difference is that this one doesn't have a panaroma feature n Sony W610 does. But the clarity's better than the cameras mentioned above, plus the miniature feature is kind of cool. Good for capturing family parties, college events, etc. Amateurs need not worry about the different modes available coz the AUTO mode does it all. Video quality is good too. Overall if u got 6500 in your hand, this is where you should stop browsing and click "Buy This Now".

a)i ordered this product on 15/05, i was given the tracking no. on the same day on email for fedex courier, product was to be delivered by 18/05,

b) on 18/05 they showed that the courier was returned to them and they reshipped it via firstflight courier, to be delivered by 21/05. also confirmed by customer care on phone.

c) on the very same day i.e. 18/05 they again changed the courier to fedex, i again got email. it was to be delivered by 24/05. coustomer care executive told me that they dont have tie up with firstflight thats why they again switched it to fed ex.

d) today 24/05 its again showing first flight courier, the coustomer executive told me that the fedex courir donot deliver to my location, but i have recived a courier from different site via fedex at my locationtoday (24/05)only, on telling him that he told me that theydonot have tie up with fedex to deliver the product in my location.

he also told me that they also dont have any previous tracking no.for my product and it was shipped today ony, but i have recieved a email for every shipment.
