Canon PowerShot SX150 IS Point & Shoot

About Flipkart: This is my 4th purchase in Flipkart and all the delivery is great and Packing's are awesome..

About the camera:
The first to mention is the Manual control is the best feature in this camera at 10k.

In the Box: Camera, canon pouch, a set of camelion Battery(2100 mAh) and a charger, strap, manual,CD, usb cable and Memory card(4gb).

1. More shooting Modes compared to other 10k Cams
2. 12X optical Zoom and 4X digital Zoom, so u can get 48X closer to the subject (12X Optical Zoom is a gift at this Price range)
3. The optical shift Image stabilization is great so u can focus a subject even 1 cm closer.
4. Size of control button's r really comfortable to use and that one touch Video button is +.
5. 3" LCD is great for viewing photos and videos and u got stereo speakers too.
6. Choice of AA batteries. U can get anywhere in the market but u need a good rechargeable one.

1. Size, it is not the slim variety so u cant put that into your Pant pockets. u always have to Hold it in our palm (Btw The design of the camera is good to hold, so no worries)
2.U have to manually raise the Flash, but u will get used to it sooner.
3. A bit slower Performance and slower Flash recharge cycle, but with good rechargeable battery u can minimize this issue.
4. Video Recording Consumes more memory But you will be amazed of its HD quality. U can get a 16 Gb Mem card later to solve this issue. If u use only for photos u can snap more than 2000 photos in 4gb card (based upon the photo quality u choose).

My experience with this cam for 2 Months:

1.Battery:
-I use Eneloop 2000mAh with charger which i bought from Flipkart, I took more than 227 photos with 1 set in a single charge in 3 hour time span all with Flash ON and 4 videos of 5 min each, still the battery is not dead but started showing low battery indication.

2.Manual Settings:
-I use manual settings for capturing moving objects (I can even freeze a rotating fan with shutter speed of 1/200 sec but this cam has got upto 1/2000 ! just imagine) and this manual settings will be useful during night photography and u will come to know on what situations u will be using when u learn some basic photographic technique(I use a lot now).
-I already mentioned it has got lot of shooting modes, but you will come to know those only if you have the cam for at least a week. it has got that much to offer. But remember u must be using that too.

3.About Video And Zoom:
-No other camera has this option of Zooming upto 12x while capturing HD video at this price point. The video quality at 30fps is really good. U can also take normal videos(non HD).
-Optical Zoom is of excellent but digital zoom is not that great but u will be satisfied with the final result of the image.
-Digital zoom is not available in the video mode, this is to maintain the quality of the video(12X OZ is more than enough).
4.Image quality: (Very sharp quality, Tat's Excellent)
-Good bright Images with good quality at outdoors where the camera maintains ISO of 80-200 in auto mode.
-In indoor or lowlight conditions or in the night i strictly use flash to improve the image quality because this camera at higher ISO during night introduce some Noise in the images.
-Here regarding the image quality i am comparing this camera with DSLR cams. The quality is not upto DSLR mark, but i was surprised it has got features like one..

Overall the quality of the images are good and crisp..
If your budget is 10K then this is the best buy and it is the best choice to start with if it is your first camera..

As for the camera, it's identical in looks to the SX 130 PowerShot, but with a few more features, like the Discreet Mode... which is like 'stealth mode,' if you will... The cam goes absolutely silent, as in mute, and even if the flash is raised, it does not go off when you shoot, so the subject barely notices he/she/it is being photographed... A very convenient feature when shooting birds/wild animals at close range...

As with the SX 130, the smart shutter mode is super exciting! But a bit sensitive... Detecting any exposure of teeth as a smile... But at least that way you never miss any good shots...

Well, Canon is known for it's picture-perfect clarity and this model lives up to that fact one hundred percent!! With 14MP, that's 2MP more than the SX130, the resolution is brilliant! Even after a complete 48x zoom in, it picks up detail that even the naked eye doesn't! Without exaggeration..

No need for Photo-shop then, wink wink...

The order came with a 4GB memory card, a battery charger and 1 pair of rechargeable batteries, needless to say - all very good quality.

My favorites: Smart shutter, tungsten and fluorescent, fluorescent h, colour swap, fish-eye.

Definitely a very decent buy with the price lower than the SX130, and much lower than the market price.

1. Though I have not purchased it yet but hoping to get it soon.

2. In comparison to Canon SX130 IS (12 MP, 12X & Price - 10,449) and Sony Cybershot DSC-H70 (16.1 MP, 10 X & Price - 9,800), this model seems to be a better bet by anybody as I have carried out a detailed comparative study.

3. It's my pleasure to write it's first review as I loved it's features and at such a reduced price it's a great buy and is highly recommended from my side.

4. The problem which I find with Sony Cybershot cameras is their uncommon battery and memory card types whereas with this camera AA size batteries and SD Cards (Micro SD too can be used as SD with an SD adappter) are universal and very handy and convenient on long tours and trips.

5. The brand canon is well known in cameras and their supremacy over other products has already been proven by many users.

Canon Powershot SX 150 is same as SX 130 in terms of its lens quality and Optical zoom but surprisingly it is available at a much lower cost. It also have become 14Megapixel and some creative photoshooting can be done which were not there in SX130.
A camera below 10thousand with this much lens clarity and high zoom is simply unbelievable. I have compared this with many models and let me share my experience.

Comparison with Sony:- Sony uses Bravia engine in its LCD display and after taking pictures they look marvelous in the LCD of the camera but while transferring them to your desktop or laptop (excluding Sony Vaio) they will lack in contrast. The cameras which use Sony Lens are worse in all respect to this particular model but if You can find any camera with Carl Zeiss Lens then The lens clarity and photo quality of Sony will be better but in this budget no Carl Zeiss will give you this much Optical Zoom. The quality of Canon lens is great if you are not a professional so If you require a good all purpose camera this one will overpower sony.

Comparison with Olympus:- Olympus is the toughest competitor with Canon in this budget. The lens clarity of Olympus is a bit better than this model (I am talking about Olympus SP series). They also offer more zoom but the problem regarding olympus is that they are a bit bulky so there is a probability of shaking the hands. While shooting a low light photo Canon is better because cameras with low aperture like this one has to be light weight because you have to keep your hand steady for nearly 1 second while shooting this picture. moreover the dial is absent in Olypmus so the cameras lack in manual mode so you have to rely on their Auto mode.

Comparison with Nikon:- NEVER GO FOR NIKON COMPACT POINT AND SHOOT BELOW 20K BUDGET. Nikon is good only in their P series, DSLR series but nikon's All weather, Lifestyle, Style all variants point and shoot are simply horrible. They will give you maney features but they show drastically poor performance in terms of their zoom clarity. The pictures are not up-to the mark. Pictures take longer time to be focused. While recording movie, the focusing time even lengthens. It also lacks in Manual mode.

Comparison with Fujifilm:- If you love Fuji Brand and want to buy a camera below 10k go for Fujifilm Finepix A series. The S series is not good at all. Shooting Macro photo and low light photo in Fuji S series is a nightmare. The A series is very cheap and lens clarity is OK but they dont have any zoom and Fuji's high zoom cameras are very very very slow and the Menu control is horrible so you can not take good photos at ease. You have to spend some time before actual start up.

Comparison with Samsung:- Samsung is a good company for electronics but sorry to say not for Digital Cameras. They are equipped with lot many features but in terms of Camera quality and specs, they are simply far behind

Comparison with Panasonic:- The Lumix series is superb to say the least. They even offer the manual mode but Panasonic cameras are very lightweight. The problem regarding too much light weight is when you do optical zooming the cg of your camera becoms in such a point that keeping your hand steady becomes a challenge. But in low zoom they are better than Olympus even. But in zoom, they are nightmare

Finally I would like to say that This particular model is equipped with lot many features which we mainly consider as software jobs. Its lens clarity is not maximum but if You are not a professional it will suit you (your pocket also). Its optical zoom is really stable and It also have a Manual control mode so Go for it. Its price has recently fallen and pick it while it's hot.

Perfect blend of digital modes and manual modes.....before ordering this one I did a lot market survey......I found this one in this 10k budget......but truly it was actually best on 15k zone.....the funny modes are good when you wants to be naughty.... if you want to take some serious shot, want to be a professional photographer try the manual modes (3-off). It is also good for learning different camera term like aperture, shutter speed, focusing, ISO ...etc..You can manually change all of this and click the photo you want...
If you planned to by a camera in 15k budget then I recommended you as best one with no competitor...only disadvantage I found that is unavailability of panorama mode.....
Just go for it.........
