Description

Point and Shoot cameras are perfect for people who love to learn the details of photography. This is especially prominent in the Canon range of cameras as they are very user-friendly. This is best suited for people who are well versed in photography, yet are not confident enough to step up to a DSLR just yet.

Sensor Technology

This camera is equipped with a powerful and highly responsive 12.1 MP CMOS sensor that can be used for high speed photography with the right lighting conditions. In terms of ordinary situations, or even in the auto mode, you can rely on this camera to perform really well in low light conditions, or across the brightness spectrum.

Image Stabilization is Key

In any camera, a stable image is possible only if the device is kept really still, or at the very least, the device should have the necessary features that let you take crystal clear images even under unstable conditions. This Canon Powershot camera is equipped with an Intelligent Image Stabilizer system that ensures that you always take high quality images free of blurs and other stability related imperfections.

Display Features and Screen Technology

This camera employs an LCD screen with 2.8 inches of size that comes in the Vari-angle format. This is a great format that allows you to quickly and efficiently turn the screen to almost any angle with relation to the lens direction. This also means that you can take difficult angles with relative ease.

High Speed Photography with Auto Focus

This camera is also incorporated with the high speed Auto Focus feature that allows you to focus quickly on the subject under the auto mode. This is a special feature as not many point and shoot cameras, even advanced ones, have quick focus. This is a feature that comes in handy especially when you go in for quick photography, when a situation is so fleeting that manually focusing on it may result in that moment passing by.

A camera for all occasions

I have been using this camera for a month now. After extensively comparing with Lumix FZ200 I decided to go for Canon SX50HS. FZ200 has a fantastic high-speed lens, but falls shot on zoom range (24x) and image resolution. SX50HS is a very good camera in the bridge category for the price. I am impressed by its lens and the Image Stabilizer.

The cons first:
1. The EVF is very small and low-resolution. The colour patterns sometimes is annoying.
2. The button below the thumb grip gets pressed w...

An Ultra-Zoom that will overwhelm you, every time!

Bought this camera in October from a reputed city store. I had been researching for a good bridge camera for about a month before that.

The other cameras that I had been comparing with this one were Sony DSC-HX200V, Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ200, Fujifilm FinePix HS25EXR/HS30EXR. After comparing hundreds of pictures online and personally testing the Fuji and the Sony in a store, here is my verdict.

I didn't like the Fuji because of it's manual zoom. The camera is already very heavy and the ma...

Great Camera but with Limitations due to Price Range

People who wish to buy a point and shoot camera and buying this one thinking that they are having the advantage of 24 - 1200 mm lens ... need to understand two things :

1. Crop Factor (search videos online and study about it ) = 5.62

Crop factor or focal length multiplier is calculated by dividing the diagonal of 35 mm film (43.27 mm) with the diagonal of the sensor.
Crop factor = 43.27 / sensor diagonal in mm

Canon PowerShot SX50 HS crop factor
Sensor diagonal in mm = 7.70 mm
Crop fa...

Buy this now!

Thats it just buy it. It does nearly everything you ever wish to do with a camera. There are a couple of things I wish Canon to note for its future version though.
1) There are too many buttons on the back which get pressed inadverently.
2) With such a terrific zoom, I don't see much use of the LCD panel, instead I wish to have a terrific EVF on its next avatar.
3) Inclusion of remote handling capability would be wonderful.
4) The AF is great but I would wish a little more upgrading.
5) I hop...

World's Best Zoom Camera

I am not a professional. Just a rookie. As a consequence I have done a lot of research. Seen through SLRs, Point n Shoot, Bridge. But I have found out that this Bridge camera gives me the best combo of all for the following reasons:

1. You are getting zoom of 50x optical and 4x digital. Buying that zoom in DSLR lenses will empty my pocket. And I am not going for photo exhibition.

2. It shoots raw.

3. It possesses a smaller sensor compared to DSLR but if I compare it with other Zoom Camera...

A camera???? Actually a binocular camera!!!!!!!!!

I think this is the most awesome camera in this price range with an ultra zoom of 50x. I was first thinking to buy eos 1100D but I really needed a good zoom cause i wanted to take photos of far away objects. And when I asked the sales boy, he showed me this camera. He also told me that buying a lens of such a zoom would cost Rs. 3 Lakhs. I thought of nothing else and bought it. Its simply ammmmaaaaaaaaaazzzzzing. It has great pic quality and most importantly, it has RAW mode. Maybe it is not ...

One of the best cameras from Canon

I do not particularly own this camera, but was able to borrow it from my friend. Although the price range is slightly higher compared to the Panasonic Lumix DMC FZ70, Fujifilm SL1000 and the Nikkon P600, this camera wins on a few things.

Pros:
1. Zoom Stability: Probably one of the best in the business for extreme telephoto end zooming. Autofocus lovers can have a field day with this camera.
2. Shutter Speed: The minimum shutter speed in this is around 15 seconds, which is pretty good enough...

Completely Satisfied

I bought it not from Flipkart but from an Authorised Cannon Store. Before the purchase I was in doubt whether to go for SonyHX 400v , Nikon 600P or Cannon SX50HS. Every thing else remaining the same the Low Light Capabilities made me go in favour of Cannon. Nikon and Sony has wifi which was not a distraction for me, since cameras should be judged primarily for its capabilities to take pictures. I'm Completely satisfied with this camera. The Zoom is so amazing that you could even capture the ...

Excellent Piece of Equipment!

I am primarily a bird photographer and this little camera has totally blown me away!
Pros:
Quick focus as the telephoto end
Great image quality at full zoom
LCD works well even in bright light
Plenty of manual controls to maximize the image quality of this camera

Cons: Only two rather minor issues
1) Viewfinder is not too good
2) Hand grip is a little small for someone with large hands (like me for example)

Overall an excellent camera. If you want the best image quality for this class of ca...
