This is the life of the most famous Texas Ranger of the time, the man who said he would charge hell with a bucket of water. For a number of years he was deputy sheriff, or deputy marshall, or representative of the cattlemen's associations, employed by them to put a stop to cattle stealing and robbery under arms, and served for 20 years in the Texas Rangers.
