Casablanca (Introduction by Lauren Bacall , Commentary by Critic Roger Ebert, Trailers, Deleted Scenes, You Must Remember this - A tribute to Casablanca) (Movie, DVD) Price: Rs.299

From highly revered Academy Award-winning director Michael Curtiz comes an evergreen film that has consistently maintained its place close to the top of lists of the greatest films of all time - Casablanca. Based on an unproduced stage play called Everybody Comes to Rick, Casablanca is a romantic war drama film that stars Academy Award-winner Humphrey Bogart, the ravishing 3-time Academy Award-winning enchantress Ingrid Bergman and Paul Henreid. Set during the early part of the Second World War, Casablanca tells the tale of an ex-freedom fighter named Rick Blaine, who, having grown cold to the world, operates a nightclub coined Rick's Café Américain in Casablanca which has become a sanctuary for refugees who are seeking illegal letters that’ll allow them to move to America. One fine day, Rick is approached by Victor Laszlo, a notorious rebel leader, and his wife Ilsa, Rick’s true love who abandoned him when Paris was invaded by the Nazis. Her love for Rick renewed, Ilsa wants Victor to escape to America, though she wants to stay behind and expects Rick to find a way to help her do so. What will happen to the star-crossed lovers?

HERE'S LOOKING AT YOU KID

Casablance sky rocketed Humphary Bogart to instant fame and remains one of his best movies till date.

Rick (Bogart) plays a cynical American Cafe Owner in Casablanca who sticks his neck out for no one until the day his old flame (who broke his heart) arrives with her husband to his Cafe Americana.
What follows is one of those heartbreaking romances which have become the legend of classic film noire. The breathtakingly beautiful Ingrid Bergman never looked so ethreal in any movie and Bogart never played such self sacrificing rugged hero again.

A classic in truest sense of the word Casablance has rightly earned its name amoong the top ten movies of Hollywood.
Casablance is that rare wine which needs to be savoured one sip at a time.
