This book is a textbook approach that aims at providing an understanding of our planet’s physical topography, climatic and vegetative environment, and the relationship that human beings share across regions.
Certificate Physical And Human Geography is an educational handbook on our world’s physical, climatic, vegetative environment across all regions on the globe. The book is essentially divided into two parts - Physical Geography, and Weather, Climate and Vegetation.
The book sheds light on various aspects of the environment and its dynamics, with dedicated chapters that provide a comprehensive overview of the two main sections.
The Physical Geography section deals with topics that span the planet’s various topographies like the Earth’s Crust, Weathering, Mass Movement and Groundwater; Landforms of Glaciation, The Ocean, Lakes, Coastal Landforms, etc.
Each chapter has a questions section to help readers evaluate their understanding of the subject explained in that chapter. Various illustrations and photographs enhance the text, to enable all students to easily understand the concepts.
Part two of the book, The Weather, Climate and Vegetation section, covers subjects like different climates and climatic zones like Equatorial, Savanna, Tropical or Arctic climates.
Certificate Physical And Human Geography is meant for high school students and the revised edition adheres to the new ICSE syllabus. The book is part of the reference material recommended for Civil Service Preliminaries.

Though its a 2012 reprint bt the edition is of the 70's.One can for once overlook the fact that its no longer BOMBAY n MADRAS but its distressing to see that PLUTO is still considered the 9th planet and USSR is still a country..such handiwork is not expected from 'THE' OXFORD PRESS!
However its quite lucid for understanding basics of physical geography. One may find several unnecessary chapters in terms of preparation fr UPSC but its worth a shot if one is a fresher!
FLIPKART's service was undoubtedly as always prompt n neat..indeed the best..!!
This book is an indispensible tool for preparing core concepts of psysical geography for Civil Services Preliminary Examination.
Gives a lucid and crystal clear explanation of concepts.Presentation is excellant. One of the best book availiabale in the market.Serious aspirants just go for it.!!
Hats off to flipcart for their service.
As one user said in december 2011 , the pluto has been referred as ninth planet . but i m writing this in december 2012 still it is not updated that means there is no updated versions available .
( IAU in 2006( 6 yrs back and still the book is out of date ) passed resolutions which defined planets , dwarf planets and other celestial bodies distinctly . with respect to that resolutions , pluto has been assigned or represented as DWARF PLANET )
i guess school books would provide much updated details than this
so dont buy this one . if u still want this ,search for it in local books shops where they sell second hand books
because since it is very much out of date ,, its not worth to pay 245 for this .. if u search for local shop u may get the same book with same details below 50rs but a second hand one ..
It is a must buy book for getting hold of geography concepts. It is rich in diagrams, illustrations and case studies.
It has always been favourite with geography toppers and also'for'general studie. In prelims geography carries considerable weight especially environmental geography which this books covers quite nicely.
