Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (Paperback) Price: Rs.225

Charlie And The Chocolate Factory is an account of a massive chocolate factory built by the legendary chocolate lover and inventor, Willy Wonka, and about how a little kid, Charlie, gets to visit the factory.

Summary Of The Book

In Charlie And The Chocolate Factory, the focus is on Charlie Bucket, a young boy who lives with his destitute family. His parents, though hard working, are nearly always poor. Besides them, there are two sets of grandparents who live with them, and they are nearly always ailing, confined to their beds.

In Charlie’s little town, there is one place that always generates a lot of interest, which is a massive factory built by the infamous chocolates and confectionery maker, Willy Wonka. One of Charlie’s grandfathers, Joe, explains what he remembers of the factory.

There are a number of mysteries surrounding the factory, in Charlie And The Chocolate Factory. For one thing, the factory was non-productive for a long time, after which WIlly Wonka suddenly reappeared with a great secret sweet recipe and took the factory to new heights. Another mystery is that no employees are ever seen entering or leaving the factory.

A newspaper article says that Willy Wonka has placed five golden tickets in his chocolates, and those who are lucky enough to get these tickets will be given a tour of the factory. Understandably, the event is given wide press coverage, and the Bucket family read about the four children who get tickets. All four of them are extremely spoilt and badly behaved children.

As it turns out, Charlie gets the fifth ticket by sheer luck. All five children are taken into the factory and shown the sights. What happens to the spoilt kids? What happens to Charlie? Who exactly is Willy Wonka? Charlie And The Chocolate Factory is the manifestation of every child's dream.

The Great Roald Dahl @ His Best

The books starts with a chapter..."Here Comes Charlie"...

The story of poor Charlie whose passion for Chocolates leads him to the most memorable adventure of his life....his encounter with world's greatest living chocolate maker, i.e. Mr. Willy Wonka

Years had been years since anyone has seen Mr. Willy Wonka or opened gate of his factory, but his chocolate factory is still operational even without any hired manpower, making the most notorious & delicious chocolates in the world ..

..and all of sudden comes an advertisement in newspaper from Mr. Wonka....

People from all around the world turns to almost maniac after reading this add...

What happens to the Charlie & his family after this sudden announcement??

Won't open the secrets here...Read the book yourslef.

Highly readable with big fonts, easy to understand language, plot with lot of humour & sense for li'l ones, with added glow of rhymes (I liked the one in which he tell TV an Idiot Box and instead advises every parents to make their child read books...!!)

Perfect 100/100 or even more for the Genius Storyteller Mr. Dahl

For everyone!!!

The delivery was good.It came before the expected date, two days after I placed the order. It came in a very good condition, better than what you would get in a shop, really. The story's good especially for boys & girls of age 10-11-12.It has a good amount of suspense in it,but doesn't bore.It might seem at first that the story has a sad ending. But it's the opposite and good to read.

Roald Dahl for my 4 year old

I chose this story for my 4 year old- it has a central character and of course chocolate. And I must say, I am absolutely enjoying reading it to her. She is loving it too. She could even start with reading it herself in an year's time- since the print is just about suitable even for a every young reader too!Recommend it for 4 years upwards!
