A son has a responsibility to fulfill his father’s last wishes, this way he’d be respecting his memory. However, it isn’t necessary that while carrying out a sorrowful task one can’t by chance stumble upon something that could make him happy; something like love. Directed by Rohit Shetty and starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and Sathyaraj, Chennai Express is a romantic action-comedy film that follows a young man’s poignant journey to a little town in Tamil Nadu to immerse his father’s ashes in a sacred river. The man, however, falls in love with a beautiful girl along his voyage, but unfortunately she turns out to be the daughter of a local don.
