Child Labour: Dimensions And Issues

Child labour is a common phenomenon in our society. It is not only common, but also a painful reminder to every civilized person of a country. We all are, perhaps, aware of the root causes of child labour. For a developing country like India, the phrase child labour has several meanings, i.e., cheap and easily available source of labour, the reflection of the existing acute poverty and the exploitative socio-economic relations.

D.S. Bahra, a specialist of Hindu Law, is a gold medallist in B.L. and M.L. from Andhra University and is also a Ph.D. from the same university. He is a practicing advocate in family law and has put in painstaking labour studying the concept of law illegitimate child. He is also the author of a book entitled "Children and Crime".
