Book: Child Labour - A Precarious Future The problem of child labour is a gigantic, complex and delicate issue. This harsh reality is fostered by socio-economic factors such as grinding poverty, population growth and illiteracy. Redress of these factors is the only prerequisite for the elimination of child servitude from our society.
Working children opt to work, aim to survive, improve their own life and that of their families. But their aims are not exactly achieved due to wage discrimination and other types of basic rithts deprivations. These factors sometimes lead to conditions of absolute slavery.
The formal education system should be remodelled to suit the needs of working children, by equipping them for socially productive activities.
