Cisco Linksys E900 Wireless-N300 Router

My sincere advice to buy this router if you need one.
1) Dont go for negative comments on web as they might be due to people wrongly configuring the device.
2) Any N wireless router with 150mbps can not justify the features of 802.11N so pick a router with at least 300mbps.
3) If any 150 Mbps N router costs you 1400 INR even then Cisco E900 is dirt cheap for 2400 INR, if compared wisely.
4) E900 and E1200 are ditto same and only difference is of firmware, E1200 firmware supports Guest SSSID and Parent Control and costs around 700 to 1000 INR more, so think if these E1200 feature really worth this extra money for you. it was not for me so a big NO to E1200 and YES to E900.
5) No antenna, slim design of E900 makes it very attractive, believe me you would love to have it in your drawing room to flaunt :).
5) Excellent range (No signal drop at all) in my 1600 Sq Feet flat and using the my machine across 3 walls.
6) Easy set up via cisco connect but i would prefer web browser for configuring if you have config data in hand.

Firstly, Flipkart delivered this well before the tentative date mentioned while ordering. Packaging was neat and secure.
About the product:
Pros:
1. Setting it up was no big deal.
2. Nice n simple user interface for router configuration.
3. No antennas for a change, is a feature i would go for.
Cons:
1. (Not really a con though) I would have preferred to have a small push button, for toggling the WIFI connection, but it is not much of a problem to me.
Now enjoying the wifi setup @ my command center :)

Again 10/10 to the flipkart delivery and packaging. I got this device with neatly packed and delivered on time.

About the product, i would say it is the best home router available in stores. This product is true value for money. Configuration takes a while as my DVD ROM is not working properly and I was not able to install the software came along with this device. But after configuring manually i really recommend don't use the Cisco Connect Software because it lacks so many features.

My internet connection is BSNL WiMax and it took me around 2hrs to configure on my WiMax Router and WiFi Router. Finally I found the solution by statically assign WAN IP address (LAN IP of WiMax) in WiFi Router. Vola... I got it connected to my computer and my phone.

After connecting I was noticed that my phone is not getting full internet connectivity(1Mbps is showing 256kbps only). After searching several forums I fixed this issue by changing the Network Mode to "Wireless-G" and Channel to "9 - 2456 GHZ".

Once every thing is up and ready I was really amazed by this product. I even get wireless range at my kitchen (3BHK) and having full connectivity (1Mbps Internet Speed).

There are so many security features available in this product which will not be available in lower end devices.

My Rating on this device is 6/5 ... Excellent product Cisco. Keep up the good work.

I polled with my friends and professors to go for this or Netgear N300... all recommended Cisco and my god I am very glad I did.
This is my first purchase through Flipkart and I wasnt available when it came home but the packing is pretty neat and safety.. THUMBS UP!!

Now about the router, this is RJ-45 internet-in type router(Indian know it as "cable wale ka net") so if u using Airtel or BSNL or such, this is not ur requirement.

Installation: I am a gamer and know how many clicks i need to go through to install a game. This however is most easiest software ever seen
NOTE: there is option of cloning the MAC-id of ur pc's lan... in case after installation doesnt work--> enter setup--> click on clone pc mac id. It did sure start ur internet without calling ur internet operator.

Connectivity: I stay on 6th floor and i can catch signal from ground floor too(lil weak signal but connection non-theless)
I am connected to 4 device all times and no lags at all.
300Mbps i must say put up a great task here

Design: well this doesnt matter to most but believe me this design is superb to vent(bottom) out the heat generated. always stays cool :) plus looks sleek and sweet

if ur requirements are RJ-45 Lan and entry level high performance router.... this is it!

Firstly, I was a bit dissatisfied with the packaging condition of the Router, and it almost did not reach me on time, as I had to call customer support and persuade them to have it delivered on time (both of these i found highly "un-Flipkart-like"). Is India's most popular Online Retailer losing its credibility? Only time will tell.

Moving on to the product, I found that seriously haven't found another router that looks so great! The installation manual just says that insert the CD, and connect, in about 20 languages. Pretty simple! But, if you're ISP has given you a static IP, plus if you have a notebook, your headache starts there.

The setup that came with the CD (or the online setup you downloaded if you can't use the CD) DOES NOT configure your WLAN for a static IP. You'll get the network on your PC all right, but not internet connectivity. Customers should also note that no matter how hard you try to access the router's default gateway (192.168.1.1) without running the setup will be redirected to a page that asks you to install the setup. That's a tight limbo! Finally I managed to install the software, and accessed the gateway to connect. From then it has been a cakewalk. The MIMO technology offers great network, and I got good signal even at a floor above where my router's placed.

Overall, I'm really happy with the router. It's the best 300mbps entry level you can get in the Indian market, though it is slightly overpriced. But non-tech-savvy users with a static IP will probably have to hire a professional to get the job done. Keep up the good work Cisco! :) :)
