Close, Too Close: The Tranquebar Book of Queer Erotica, edited by Meenu and Shruti, is an anthology of intimate, moving, and thrilling erotic and queer stories.
Summary of the Book
Pleasure, intimacy, desire, bondage, affection, sheer revelry, fear, uncertainty, discomfort – the myriad expressions of the erotic are portrayed in this title. In this unique entry into both the queer literature and erotica genres in South Asia, fifteen writers and artists from different parts of the country freely explore the endless possibilities of genders and sexualities present all around us in these stories that are purely human.
About the Authors
Meenu is a queer feminist from India. She came out of the closet and declared that she was queer eight years ago and has been working on women’s rights and gender and sexuality rights for many years. She is currently working with CREA, New Delhi.
Shruti, by virtue of being lesbian and feminist, has stumbled upon the opportunity to edit this anthology. Although she is happy that the world has allowed for a South Asian queer erotica anthology to be published, she believes that it is still not progressive enough for all queer people to feel safe always.
