Summary of the Book
This is a delightful collection of twenty three Peter Rabbit stories. The first story to be published was The Tale of Peter Rabbit, in the year 1902. The protagonist rabbit wears human clothes with a jacket and a pair of shoes. Peter’s mother is Mrs. Josephine Rabbit. He also has sisters who go by the names Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-tail. There are other characters in the stories as well. Some of the stories in this collection are The Tale of The Pie and the Patty-Pan, The Tale of Jemima Puddle-Duck, The Tale of Mr. Jeremy Fisher, The Tale of Squirrel Nutkin and Cecily Parsley's Nursery Rhymes. These story books have sold over 151 million copies across the world including the translated copies in thirty five other languages. Peter Rabbit character appears in the movie The Tales of Beatrix Potter as well. The book comprises of some interesting pictures of the characters and scenes in the stories. A TV series based on Beatrix’s stories has also been made.
About the Author
Beatrix Potter was a British author, artist and also a natural scientist who is famous for The Tale of Peter Rabbit. The children’s books created by her are very imaginative and also thoughtful at the same time. The scenery of her country is also depicted in many of her illustrations. She was engaged to Norman Warne, who happened to be her publisher.
