Allan Stewart Konigsberg a.k.a. Heywood Woody Allen is an American filmmaker, comedian, actor and playwright. Born in 1935, he began his career writing jokes and scripts for television. He became a stand-up comedian later. In the 1960s, he began writing and creating movies. Some of Woody Allen’s best known films are: Blue Jasmine, Midnight in Paris, Annie Hall, Manhattan, and Vicky Cristina Barcelona. He has won four Academy Awards and has been nominated 24 times. In 2004, Allen was ranked fourth in the list of the 100 greatest stand-up comedians by Comedy Central.
