Great book! Finally a book for foodies who want to lose weight. There are so many diets here that you're sure to find one tailored to you own `foodie weakness'! What makes the book work for me is not just the number of diets on offer but also the author's frank confessions that any fat person will relate to. Her anecdotes make you warm up to her and her ideas... a most enjoyable and inspiring read. I'm adopting it as my weight loss bible for 2012!
The book comes under autobiographical genre. The writer has
shared her memories and personal experiences of being fat and
overweight. Later, she switches on strict diet chart prepared
by her dietician and sheds the kilos. But the interesting to read was the way Kalli planned her own diet chart and resist against temptations (chocholates, pastries, etc,)in order to have an healthy and fabulouS look. Through this book, she takes the reader into different food lifestyles and how to deal it mentally and physically. Tips given by her are tried and tested.
So one must read to get different experience of dieting through
yoga and other forms.
I like this book not as a diet book (I would never follow any of these bizarre diets) but as a memoir. I bet this book took lots of guts to write and publish. If the aim of the author was to motivate the reader to really take their health seriously, I think the book really works. It also reflects how much we associate ourselves with our bodies. Kalli's obsession to lose weight is positively inspiring albeit a little scary. It takes a fat girl to get into the mind of one and for once, I appreciate the 'advice' coming from a 'credible' source. I may not follow her advice, but I've got to say she knows what she's talking about.
