Consumer Protection Administration : Organisation And Working

The importance of consumer protection has considerable increased due to globalization of market economy. There has been a rise in variety of products, sale of harmful goods and medicines, poor quality services, false claims in advertisements,etc. There seems to be little concern for the consumers and it is likely to increase with translational corporates which are coming to control the market.

Dr. Cheena Gambir is Lecturer in the Department of Public Administration at Govt. College for Gils, Sector-11 in Chandigarh. She was awarded Ph.D. by the Panjab University in 2001. She has to her credit research articles related to consumer protection that have been published in the Indian Journal of Marketing, Indian Journal of Public Administration (in Press) and has made a number of presentations in national seminars and conferences.
