Design
This Cowon multi media player sports a 3.7-inch AMOLED display screen that is touch sensitive. Want to see your pictures magnified? Just pinch with your fingers on the screen and you have your image enlarged, thanks to the pinch-to-zoom feature incorporated in the touchscreen. The device has lightweight, weighing 120 g. With dimensions of 64.2 x 116.4 x 11.8 mm, the D3 is evidently slim and easily slides into your pocket.The solidly built portable D3 comes with dedicated media control buttons on its edges, which you can access even when the device is in your pocket without needing to activate the display. This handy gadget houses the volume rocker, the play/pause button and the track forward/backward button, all on its right side.
The bottom of the Cowon D3 has the 3.5 mm headphone jack along with the USB connector and DC input. On the left panel, the device is fitted with a microSD card slot and a built-in microphone is present on the rear.
Battery and Storage
The Android-based PMP is powered by a Lithium Polymer battery that is tucked in under the hood. The battery serves you 21 hours of music and 10 hours of video playback. So you are good to go unplugged for a long time. As the battery drains, you can charge it either via USB cable or through AC Adaptor. It takes 7 hours to fully charge through USB and 3.5 hours when plugged onto a power socket.The Cowon D3 ships with 16 GB of storage capacity, which can store your never exhausting list of songs and movies without a lag. For those of you who believe in the dictum, the more the merrier, you can slip in a microSD card and increase your storage space to maximum of 64 GB.
Functions
Cowon has packed the D3 with various formats for audio, video playback, image and text viewer. The media player boasts of superior audio quality and features the full array of JetEffect sound presets that further enhance your musical experience with the D3.For connectivity, you have Bluetooth and USB 2.0 at your disposal that help you in easier and quicker file transfer. The Wi-Fi connectivity lets you make Skype calls on the Cowon D3, connecting you to your loved ones. You can watch videos from your D3 in full HD 1080p resolution in your TV by connecting a HDMI cable.

Best Audio Video Player
There were easily 2 options in front of my. iPod Touch 32GB vs Cowon D3 32GB. Following is the reasoning why I went for Cowon.
My expectations from a video mp3 player were:
1. It should sound great! No compromise.
Cowon is well known for giving the best possible sound output any device can give. And it stood true to it. It's sound quality is much much better tha$
2. It should play FLAC files. (Just listen your fav song in FLAC format, then you will know why is this a criteria)
I have my favorite music in FLAC format. I just can't convey how great it sounds in Cowon. iPod on other hand, converts music files to be stored on it$
3. It should play video.
I can simply drag and drop the avi movies in cowon. and it plays wonderfully even 1080p HD movies! the AMOLED screen is bright and crisp. Also, the wi$
4. It should have a FM radio.
FM Radio. This is a must for any music player. I just don't get it, why iPod doesn't have FM in it.
5. I should be able to download games on it.
Games. The only reason I bought Cowon D3 instead of Cowon J3. Their is a way by which you can put android market on it which offers many free games to$
6. It should have flash memory (not hard disk). Yet should have lots of space on it.
Cowon D3 has internal memory of 32GB and you can insert a 32GB card in it. So basically it is a 64GB music player!
The ONLY downside of D3 is it offers 21 hours of continuous music playback against 40 hours of iPod. But you can enjoy a 1080p HD movie on it for 10 h$
Bottomline: Even though there are many goodies which are offered by iPod and Cowon D3. The single most important thing is the better audio and video experience. And I found Cowon to excel in both these.
