Cowon iAudio E2 4 GB MP3 Player

Pros- I did a lot of research and read many reviews before deciding to buy the Cowon iAudio E2. And let me tell you one thing - Cowon players are among the MP3 players with the BEST sound quality. I was amazed at the CLARITY & RICHNESS of the songs I listened to. The earphones too are extremely good...for a change when I plugged in my Transcend MP3 player's earphones into it, the sound seemed so dull! And I get much better sound on my PC when I use Cowon's earphones.

I can hear every little detail and note of sound...I can't describe the experience. Better than Sony..better than Apple..and better than Sandisk.

Cons - There's no clip, no FM, and no voice recording. All you get is great sound. If you're undecided between this and the iPod, go for this one. Every review I've read says that the E2 sounds better than the iPod. Rest upto you. Cheers!

i Audio earphones deliver a clear sound(not crystal clear though) at high level but bass isn't good enough(sony does a pretty good job in this dept.) i believe if ur looking for absolute perfect sound u need to change earphones(snnesiher maintains a good balance in clearity & bass). the main part is the earphone & quality of ripped mp3 file any average can produce good sound. You won't find any difference in sound quality in flac & mp3 file with iAudio earphones. Personally i didn't found the sound quality better than that of ipod shuffle.
- This player do have a folder skip option, i read somewhere in reviews that it doesn't. (press next button 2 times(or more) then press & hold the next button third time, it will skip folder, while makin a bubble explode sound!
- overall if you do care about the design, its best at this price, sound quality is same as ipod definitely not better!

This MP3 player is only for those who are capable of listening without being restless. It ain't got a screen nor a hold button to keep away your mistakes but it's got sound quality none like other. I'm very much satisfied with it. I have had my share of experience with couple of MP3 players but nothing comes near to this one. I definitely know that i don't have extraordinary ears to tell the difference. I got to listen to it today and it is quite easy for anyone to make the distinction or even to draw benchmark with Apple Ipod's dominance. Like the other I indulge in heavy browsing of it's reviews and all of them gave thumbs up on the sound quality.
In detail, the BBE equalizer is unbeatable. It echoes through like you are in a theater. The resonance it gives out will remain inside your head till you hear every string of a guitar (if you know how to play guitar then this player will definitely help you more in learning the missing keys or strokes). There are about 4-5 BBE presets. The normal preset is very normal and misses bass like any other player out there. It's only when you switch to BBEs that allows to be content and relax. The BBE bass is beautiful. I love bass and almost everybody does and it doesn't disappoint at all.
I will be burning the earphones and the player for some hours. Hope that it will be loyal for times to come.
Last but not the least, a big round of applause for Flipkart for their tremendous liability (but i'm yet to receive my Senheisser headphones). Keep up the good work.
Warning: The buttons are horrible. My playlist is not so dynamic therefore i don't press anything much.

This little music player produces amazing sound quality. The sound produced by this player is much much better than any of its counterparts at this price range. The bundled headphones are also good, better than any bundled earphones provided at this price range. But with Sennheiser or Klipsch or any high quality earphones this music player will blow your mind off. This music player is worth buying, for music lovers for sure.

Comparision with Apple iPod.

iPods are not bad at all, of course. But neither are Cowons. But personally I felt music in its most truest form in Cowon than in iPods. I listen to Heavy Metal. Heavy Metal feel produced on this player is magnificent. Sound balance is much much much better in Cowon than in Apple. People at Cowon had put lot into the research before producing such a wonderful sound processor. With high end earphones the Cowon will beat Apple with a huge margin.
But at the end, it comes down to personal preferences.

If you are a music lover/audiophile and want your music to be true, balanced, original, best in its form, close your eyes and GO for Cowon.

If you are gadget freak, who prefers the brand image, who wants to own the music player which millions of people own, Apple is there for you !!

This is without a doubt the best screenless player you can buy. Perfect for use during exercise.

Navigation: (5/5)
Cowon has an incredible method of navigating the songs. Pressing FF twice will play the first song in the next folder. So as long as the songs are well organized during copying, playing the right song will be a breeze.

Sound Quality: (4/5)
BBE sounds great. However the provided earphones is quite bad. Used with my Sennheiser HD headset to get really good aural output.

Battery life: (3/5)
Got about 9 hours of battery which is quite bad for a screenless player.

This supports almost all formats. MP3, wav, ogg, flac and wma are the formats I have tried.

This is hte best screenless player you can buy. I got this mainly for the BBE sound effects. However for almost the same price you can get the Sandisk Clip which has a screen (tiny one), superb audio quality (without BBE) and can play off SD cards too. However it dosent look half as good as this one does :)
