Design
The Cowon V5 is clad in high quality soft plastic, with much of the chassis occupied by the resistive touchscreen display. The minimalistic chassis measures 128 x 82 x 15.7 mm, fairly thin considering all the tech it packs inside. The left spine houses a power button, LED lights, and a volume rocker. While the right edge features a 3.5mm headphones jack, a memory card slot, a proprietary charging port, a proprietary port for a data cable and TV-out ports.
Battery and Storage
A USB rechargeable Lithium Polymer battery powers the Cowon V5. The battery takes 3.5 hrs for a full recharge when connected to a wall adapter. The 32 GB of internal memory on the V5 can hold 7400 songs. The Cowon V5 supports an imprssive 45 hours of audio playback and 10 hours of video playback.
Functions
The Cowon V5's high resolution screen renders sharper text which allows to be used as an eBook reader. There is also an in-built microphone for voice recording capabilities. Cowon has included a mini-HDMI port in the Cowon V5, which lets you stream content to your HDTV. Audiophiles will find the SPDIF-out port to be a nifty addition, which allows you to connect the Cowon V5 to a DAC (Digital to Analogue Converter) and amplifiers. The Cowon media player supports Flash content which gives access to a plethora of downloadable games.
The Cowon V5 features Jet Effect 3.0 technology, BBE+ sound enhancement and a 5 Band Equalizer. Apart from generic formats like MP3 and WAV, the V5 supports high quality FLAC and TTA audio formats. One area where the Cowon V5 truly excels is the video playback. The portable media player plays DivX videos out-of-the box with no conversion required. The wider viewing angle means up to three people can share the display without any noticeable color shift. The Cowon V5 can also double up as a picture frame and supports JPG, PNG, TIF, BMP and RAW image formats.

Got my money's worth
The plus side: Loads of space to carry your music collection (including flac files) and movie, video or tv series collection around, Lots of juice in the battery, Played every video format I threw at it (mkv, avi, divx, mpeg....), Amazing screen clarity, Huge screen, Upgradable memory
The minus side: Very unimaginative UI, No 3G, No bluetooth, Doesn't charge when connected to the PC, Unique usb cable
Overall: The Cowon V5 packs a lot of juice for a PMP in it's class. Sure, the size is big (to carry around the 4.8" screen around) and if u plan to pocket it, it can be a pain. But personally, I have to travel a lot and need entertainment on the go, so this is the perfect piece of hardware for me. It even beats the iPod Touch because of it's amazing screen clarity. The audio is the best I have heard, quality wise. A word of advice:- Get new and better earphones to fully enjoy the sound quality of the V5. If you are looking for a PMP with amazing sound and video quality without the trouble of having to convert your video files everytime you want to see a movie or a video clip and loooooong battery life, without having the need to surf the net on the go, then the V5 is just the perfect PMP for you. I got my money's worth by getting this instead of the iPod.
What's more, you don't need softwares like iTunes and the likes (I detest iTunes) to copy your music files! And the flac files work just fine for me! High quality audio and video on the run!
The UI is highly cheesy, but then again, I got the V5 for the purpose of listening to music and watching videos, so it didn't bother me much at all. Get it if you are an audiophile and like viewing videos in HD.

good device but also look for against apple i pod
good device but buying this and spending 15k on this is not a bad device intel p3 and windows ce nice but a do have in a sneak peak of apple i piod as of same price and with a more high based graphics and games buy any of them both are good but id rather favour the apple i pod
