One who is to start with Charcoal, this set proves to be perfect. Chunky charcoal can lead to a mess if not handled properly and since charcoal textures are a bit different to graphite so one can use this reasonably priced product to gain competency and then move on to the rest. The box is not safe for the pencils so it is recommended to transfer it to a tin box or something once it reaches you. The Blending Stub is of a good quality paper and would not form bobbles. Not quality checked. The pencil leads are broken and I am not happy with this product supply. After first use, while sharpening the lead pieces come out and within a day all the pencils are now reduced to 1/4th size.
This is not value for money. On the contrary plain Charcoal sticks are better for the artists.

awesome stuff for beginners or those who make sketches as a hobby... must buy for passionate artists... the charcoal pencils are grt... spclly the extra soft one.... the smudge pencil cud however be a bit bttr.... but nevertheless its a gud buy and i wud give this product full marks

i have these pencils and i have used a wide range of drawing products ranging from staedler, camlin and cretacolor. the pencils in this set has good quality wood and they are easy to sharpen, unlike many other thick lead pencils, their lead does not frequently break.
Pros:-
#the graphite pencils are amazing, they have perfect shades in the HB, 2B and 4B. they are easy to draw with for beginners, who do not know how to use charcoal pencils or chunky charcoal.

I like the quality of pencils they have provided in this package.
However, the white chalk pencil didn't quite do it's job well. Also, the extra soft charcoal pencil is like graphite. I doubt it is charcoal. The hard, medium and soft charcoal pencils did their job well.
Just remember not to put too much pressure on the charcoal pencils. They are pretty fragile and soft.
I like the graphite pencils. They give 2B, 4B and HB here.

im doing drawings years now (self taught) the best drawing i ever made is with this pencils...really verry good for making face portraits...it gives the skin tone as it is realy...will recommend this..:)

Graphite and charcoal pencils are easy to work with. Sanguine and sepia pencils do not smudge, they are good for sharp, clear strokes.

Nothing worth talking about the graphite pencils in it. Coming to charcoal pencils(3 normal - soft,medium,hard + 1 oiled charcoal pencil), occasionally I found some dirt particles in it which irritates while working. Sometimes even leaving some mark on the paper. Apart from that, considering the smudging capability I'm impressed. The oiled charcoal pencil can be used to make bold lines or outlines. However it cannot be smudged. The paper stump is good too. I haven't used the skin tone pencil...

This is a good set of pencils for the beginners. Not very expensive too. Get these if you are still at the learning phase.
