Summary Of The Book
The Union Public Service Commission conducts the Civil Services Examinations (CSE) in order to recruit suitable candidates for various positions within the Civil Services. Some of these Civil Services positions include the Indian Administrative Service, the Indian Revenue Service, the Indian Foreign Service, and the Indian Police Service. The CSE exams consists of two phases, the Preliminary and the Main. In the Preliminary phase, there are two Papers. Paper 1 tests general studies and Paper 2 tests general aptitude. CSAT Civil Services Aptitude Test 2013, Paper - 2 (Volume - 1) will prepare Civil Service aspirants to write the second paper in the Preliminary elimination exams.
The text consists of five units and a set of Appendices. Starting with Unit 0, this section covers topics such as Neurolinguistic Programming, Test-taking Strategy, and Success Tips. In Unit 1, Comprehension Skills, students can find topics such as Fast Comprehension, Model Tests, and Strategies for Enhancing Comprehension Skills. Unit 2, titled Interpersonal and Communication Skills, covers topics such as Interpersonal Skills, Johari Window, Ego State, and Transactional Analysis. Unit 3 is titled Decision-Making and Problem Solving and it covers topics such as Problem Solving, Frequently Used Decision-Making Tools, and Decision-Making.
Unit 4 covers topics related to English Language Comprehension Skills such as Short and Long Comprehension Passages, Must-Know Vocabulary, and Good Vocabulary. There are four sets of Appendices included. Appendices A and B consists of the UPSC Civil Services for 2011 and 2012 preliminaries. Appendix C includes the Profile Analysis of Civil Services aspirants. Appendix D contains CSAT Paper 2 Observation for 2012 & 2011. CSAT Civil Services Aptitude Test 2013, Paper - 2 (Volume - 1) was published in 2013.
About The Authors
Dr. Manish Ranjan is an author and an IAS officer. Dr. Ranjan is an experienced IAS officer. He received the Director's Gold Medal for ranking in the first position during the IAS final exams. He completed his MBA and Ph.D. Currently, he serves as the District Magistrate in the Hazaribag district in the state of Jharkhand. He held this position in three other districts. Dr. Ranjan was awarded the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence for two years.
Annita is an author, practicing psychologist, freelance researcher, and trainer. Annita completed a postgraduate degree from the University of Delhi and is pursuing her Ph.D. in Psychology.
Rajneesh Singh is an author and the Head of National Products. Singh has degrees in Business Administration and Economics. He is in the process of completing his LLB.
